Stars have been playing together for some time, that's how dynasties are made. LA Lakers had 2 active all stars (Kobe, Pau) and three players who have been all stars at one point or another (Odom, Artest, Bynum). Celtics had 4 guys who were active all stars and 1 guy who should have been an all star (Perks). The only difference is that the Heat had players decide where they want to play, instead of some genius GM architecturing a blockbuster trade. And FYI there are only a handful of contenders every year. Its not like football where any team can win it all, the last 20 championships were won by around 4 teams. So yeah, I think you're overemphasizing the heat, that team still depends on LBJ's greatness. If he played like crap Wade and Bosh won't be able to do anything on the court.
Well yeah, you aren't doing anything. You're just a guy expressing his opinions on a message board like anyone else. I'm talking about the people making decisions. If the new CBA somehow prevents this from happening again it is basically a punishment. A way of wagging the NBA's finger at players and saying 'don't do it again'. I would like to hear someone propose a fair solution. At the end of the day, they took less money to play together. What can you do but restrict their ability to choose who they want to play for?
