After 2 different interviews with the recruiter then the position manager, I've got an interview with the president of a small, privately operated company.

On the job description, it says the starting salary ranges from $17,000-$35,000.

The required no experience, and a high school diploma.

I have a little over 1 year of relevant work experience, and 3 years organizational experience overall.

What salary should I aim for?

Also, I know the strategy is to keep salary open and make opportunity the key. But this is the 3rd interview with the president, and I'm almost 100% sure that this is going to be about starting salary and availability.

How do I tackle questions like "what salary are you expecting?"

or if he offers me a really low salary, what do I say to politely counter offer?
