I don't understand why everyone is ragging on this kid. So he saved a few bucks, good for him. He might be a poor college kid or just in having tough financial times, or maybe just into saving money. Whats wrong with that? Isn't that why people clip coupons or shop at a place if there is a sale? To each his own.

BTW to answer the original posters question, I have never heard of that and didnt know it was possible. Congrats.

Sure you can negotiate as long as you're talking to a person who feels they are empowered to decide. My wife's prof was talking about negotiation and tells a story about how he went to Marshall Field's in downtown Chicago, found an ugly tie for $40. He told the salesman, "I'll give you $10." The salesman said no. So, he asked for the manager. He makes the same offer to the manager, who says no. Then he says, "this is an ugly tie. How many seasons has it been here? Eventually, it'll go to a discount rack, and then to Filene's Basement and you'll get no commission on it. Sell it to me for $10 and at least get something." So, the manager agreed to sell it for $10.

Of course, this guy had some leverage because the tie was ugly. I don't know if you've got anything on Domino's.
