A little over a week until Selection Sunday. Thought I would start a thread for the tourney. FYI March Madness on Demand is supposed to be even better this year than last. http://mmod.ncaa.com/ I don't know if you will even have to "log in" this year. Looks like everything will just stream live.
Can't wait!! ... How's Kentucky and ole BCG gonna do in the NIT? Still can't believe how poorly he is performing there. How much more time do you think he'll get?
I figure he will get four years. I still have faith we can squeak in to the NCAA's. We just need to get hot in the tourney next week... and win it.
Yup it sure is. One good thing is with the way the SEC is we could win the thing, but the way we have been inconsistent who knows.
At 9-7, Texas is in with their non-conference wins (UCLA, Villanova). It was dicey for a while, and if they had lost to Baylor on Monday, I think they'd be more on the bubble. Schedule-wise, they'd look good, but no B12 team with an 8-8 record has ever made it, so that would have been tough. I think they could be as high as a 6 or 7 seed with some B12 Tourney wins. I just hope they avoid the 8-9 line, and hopefully the 7-10 one. I'd rather be an 11 or 12 seed than a 7, 8, 9, or 10.
Actually, A&M made it at 8-8 last year and I think Texas would have made it in even with 8-8 and a loss to Baylor this year too since the Bubble is so weak. At 9-7, they are probably are a 7-8 seed IMO
Schlabach has them as a lock, along with A&M. It wasn't more than 2 weeks ago when the Big 12 was looking at maybe 4 teams. Now, they're saying 5 are locks and Ok St. could possibly make it 6 with a good tourney showing.
OSU is a lock, regardless of the tourney. No way a team with an RPI of 26 and SOS of 8 gets left out with the weak bubble field this year. Big 12 has six locks, and K-State could get them a shot at seven with a win over UT (though likely they'd need a win over Kansas as well).
K-State will pretty much need to get to the Big 12 tourney finals to have a chance at even getting considered for the tournament. I think it actually hurt them to get the 4 seed instead of falling further back and being able to play another game. Sure it would be a low ranking team, but it's another game. I think it would strongly benefit KState to have A&M go far in the Big 12 Tournament so that it makes one of their conference wins carry more weight than before.
And the upsets in the Big 12 continue. Now OU is the latest to fall. This doesn't make the Big 12 look good. Now lets see if Tech can take on Mizzou. The matchups suggest a close game.
Pitt just went down in BE Tourney which is probably a good thing, if you want to get right down to it. Killing themselves and trying to win the BE Tourney hasn't helped them advance past the Sweet 16 not once yet. Hopefully, having the extra time to rest their legs will do the trick.
