I am in a little internet cafe in Northern Thailand...and it sells great coffee!! (If any of you ever spend much time in asia, you'll know how significant that comment is!) Anyway...the point of all that is, I am away from sydney for a month and haven't had much chance to keep up with the NBL. I have just looked at the website and see that the Kings play Townsville...that will be a great series. For the overall title...I agree that the Titans have the most talent, but don't they every year? They always seem to lose the really big games. Perth seem to have a pyschological hold on them. I'd prefer to see the Titans win however as I hate the Wildcats. Despite all that...my gut instinct says Woolongong. Can't believe I just wrote that...but I have just have a feeling about them. Should be a great play off series all up...the best for a long long time . ------------------

The quality of play depends on the teams playing. The Tigers run a slow offense suited for 'Old Man Gaze' and Lanard Copeland. However, the 36ers are a more fast paced game with Brett Maher and Darnell Mee being the main scorers. There are alot of 3 pointers (due to the 3pt line so close in), a few weeks ago there were something like 25 treys made by a single team in one game....crazy stuff. The refs are the only things slowing the game down and making it boring. Some of the calls are just plain ridculous- very light, pansy-assed fouls. But there are a lot of good players (Rob Rose, Chris Anstey, Jason Smith, James Smith, Darell McDonald, Ricky Grace etc.) that rise the quality of play throughout the league. ZRB, where in Australia did you live, and where are you living now?? Hope this helps. ScreamingRocket- I also have a 'fear' of Woolongong winning the title. The Tigers might run a slow offense for "old man Gaze" but they still score 120 Ppg's... Bradtke just gets EVERY offensive rebound and stuffs it back in... ...I'll go out on a limb and tip the Kings to win it all! I think they've been looking pretty damn good over the last few weeks and if they knock over Townsville (as I believe they will) then they've got the knowledge that they can beat any of the other teams - I'd like to see a Kings/ Wollongong second round matchup - that'd be pretty fiery. If the Kings go down then sanity says to me that Wollongong will win - they've got a pretty complete all round team and are smooth under pressure - and Axel Dench plays for them! And go the sixers to knock out the Titans first round too! ------------------
