I'm bored so bear with me. :)
Below is the link for the NBA power rankings by kings fans. Just thought it would be interesting too find out how other teams see the rockets (the kings' fans in this case). They have owned us this season and I guess its no surprise that they rank us this low. Guess who they rank as the no. 1 team?
    Sac Sacs Power Rankings

No. 10 30-22 Houston Rockets - Really, we're not impressed with this team based on the talent and coach that they have. In fact we\ think that Yao is overrated and will probably turn out to be nothing more than the second coming of Rik Smits. Yippee, big tall guy, decent offensive moves but doesn't get nearly the rebounds nor blocks he SHOULD get for someone that tall. The one overwhelming positive aspect of this team is that it is able to play a slow-tempo game which practically assures they'll make the playoffs tough against whatever team they play against. The one overwhelming negative aspect of this team is Stevie Franchise's first half play. You would expect him to average about 24 or 25 points on this team, not a very pedestrian 17.

Basically they think Yao and Francis have been disappointments for this team. Yao=Rik Smits. I'm pretty much certain they only base their opinions from watching Kings vs Rockets games. :D
I think we should be at No.7, above the Nuggets Grizzlies and Pistons. We have had the more impressive wins than Denver and Memphis and though Detroit has a better record than ours, they are in the Leastern conference.
    What do you guys think?

If Yao is Rik Smits, what does that make Vlade Divac?

all I know is that we'll raise hell against whoever we see in the first round. We'll see how rik smits-like Yao ming will be against Vlade and Miller. Kings fans won't be talking then.

For those who were saying B. Miller is more qualified than Yao form the ASG, watch today's game. Against the best, B. Miller doesn't stand out at all. Yao presented the biggest mismatch 1-on-1 tonight, at least when he is gaurded by eastern bigs.

Yao must destroy these stats before he will change those opinions of him...

    http://www.nba.com/playerfile/rik_smits/index.html

Yao can't just merely have good games here or there. He must dominate and take charge....

Smits best point production was 18.5. Yao is at 16.5ppg today.

The good news is that Yao (9.0) is already beating him in rebounds. Smits best rebounding production was 7.7.

It seems that I never saw Rik Smits gettin double teamed.

First the leauge knows that you will get burnt by playing one on one against Yao. How many big man can claim that? I believe that yao eventaully will get comfortable of beaing a double team, but that will take time.

BTW, I will take a big man who demands DT all the time over those who gets better stats because of single coverage ALL THE TIME.

    At least it creates a 4 on 3 opportunity.:p

I think B. Davis said it best in regards to SF not going for the 25pts a game:

"If you understand the game, do you want to have him average 25 and lose or average 17 and six rebounds and six assists and play better defense, and become a proven winner and leader. It's not about numbers. Everybody gets so caught up in numbers.....It's not about the stats. It's about making your team win. That's what he's doing. He's winning basketball games."

Im thinking those guys over there are idiots. There saying that Eddy Curry, Tyson Chandler, and Amare Stoudamire are not going to be great.

They are all highschool players one in his 2nd year and the others in 3rd years. Those people are just writing crap and not really thinking about what there saying.

Comparing the stats of current players to those in the history is misleading. Nowadays, teams play defenses that used to be "illegal" and teams score a lot lower. 10 years ago, if you average 86 ppg, you would have been dead last. Plus, centers have a much tougher time nowadays. If Yao were playing his second year in the 80's or early 90's, he would have got 22/12 on average.

Who cares what a few fans of another team say? If you read the fan sites of the other teams, there are also tons of posts which say Yao is going to be the next MD, Steve is the most amazing scorer in the league and Houston Rocket is going to be the next dynasty in NBA.

I apologise.. I am currently woozy with Vicodin for an abcessed tooth,
so if this seems like a dumb question, please forgive me..

If Yao is the 'next MD', then who was the FIRST MD ?

I am gonna feel stupid when you tell me, but right now I cannot for the
life of me think of a dominant big man with MD as his intitials..

Shaq refers to himself as "Most Dominant" and "Most Dominant Ever" (MDE).

It's a little stupid, because in terms of physical domination of games, no one will ever be able to top Wilt.

I agree with all the points that were made. Steve Francis should be averaging 24-28pts a night. The fact that he has to defer so much of his offense for Yao is unbelievable. Yao is Rick Smiths prior to all his feet trouble. If steve gets more shots the Rockets would win more games.
