Why is Vince ahead of Kobe? I know that their numbers are close, but Kobe's are ALL higher than Vince's.

Hmmm...something smells of East Coast bias stench!!! Give me Kobe any day...he's got the champion swagger!

As for the point guard list...nice to see that John Stockton is still a 'power' in the NBA. I hate the Jazz!!!

    VC can't hold Kobe's jock.

Offensively, they are basically even. Though VC has a better 3 pt shot now.

Defensively, it's not even close. Kobe is a stopper, VC just hopes his man doesn't score 25 a night.

Kobe has more all around game than Vince Carter. IMHO Kobe is probably the best player in the NBA. McGrady is a cypher- I think he has more game than Carter too.

Three things distinguish Kobe from Vince:

    1) Championship Rings.

    2) Defense.

    3) He's much much smarter than Vince.

    Some other good questions:

Why is Tim Duncan third behind Garnett and 'Toine Walker?

Why is Deke behind Vlade "I shoot FT's worse than Shaq" Divac.

I strongly disgree. Just about everyone criticizes Vince's defense in these days. However, if you look at the stats of opponent guard for the last 5 games, you'll automatically come up with a conclusion yourself.

    11/25 vs 76ers
    A. Iverson 7-24 18 pts

    11/23 vs Celtics
    J. Johnson 4-7 10 pts

    11/22 vs Bucks
    R. Allen 4-11 13 pts

    11/20 vs Pistons
    J. Stackhouse 5-20 19 pts

    11/18 vs Suns
    A. Hardaway 5-19 10 pts

As you can see, not once did anyone score more than 20 on him. I'm not saying Vince's defense is on the same level as Kobe just yet. But he has definitely improved over the last 3 yrs.

These rankings are based on overall statistics, not the success of certain teams. That is why Walker and Garnett are higher on the list. While their teams may not be as good, they are still producing the numbers.

They are, but that still has no bearing on the power rankings.

If you put Vince on the Lakers and Kobe on the Raptors you would probably have a different outlook on their defense. Kobe has Shaq roaming the middle, while toronto has a shadow of Hakeem. Also, the Lakers play much better team defense with Fox and Horry. All in all, you relate their individual defense with their team's overall defense. If Vince were on the Lakers, he would have a few rings also.

I guess theres only 1 way to figure out who is better.. SLAM DUNK CONTEST!!! WHO WOULD WIN.. Air Canada!

Too bad Tor is the #1 shot blocking team in the league.

I wasn't even considering team success, just by the numbers they provided it looks like Duncan is outpplaying both of those guys.

Is Kobe really shooting 53% for the season? I don't usually hang on the guys jock - but damn that is impressive for a two guard. Last two guard to shoot over 50% was Jordan wasn't it?
