Yao Ming Leaves Taiwan After Three-Day Visit
NBA star Yao Ming left Taipei on Sunday afternoon by air after a three-day visit to the island. The Houston Rockets center attended a basketball friendship match held in Taiwan University in which Yao scored 26 with seven slam dunks, making more than 3,000 Yao's fans to scream. It is the third time that Yao has visited Taiwan. Yao visited the Taipei 101, the world's tallest completed skyscraper just after his arrival on Friday evening. -- Xinhua News Agency

    New Court Design This Season
The Rockets' home court is undergoing a makeover. Nearly four years after opening the doors to Toyota Center, the Rockets have mapped out plans to redesign the court's canvas with a sleek, two-tone wood style look. The new floor design, which is currently being redone and is scheduled to be completed later this month, will have lighter wood inside the three-point arcs with the rest of the floor being flushed by a darker shade of wood. The major renovation is being made to give the floor a more sleek and vibrant appearance for fans, whether they're watching the Rockets in the stands or on television. -- Rockets.com

    It's Time
Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming are back. Steve Francis and Mike James are returning to town. And one of Europe's best -- Luis Scola -- has been added to bulk up the front court. Could this be the season that the Rockets close the gap on the Western Conference's other top teams? The organization is banking that "It's Time." Riding a wave of optimism from an offseason filled with impressive moves, the Rockets have launched a new marketing campaign focused on the team's desire to return to the upper echelon of the NBA. The most significant aspect of the campaign is the franchise's new marketing slogan, "It's Time." -- Rockets.com

Mmmm gotta love the offseason. Is it bad that I keep checking on the live feed of the Rocket's court reconstruction in hopes of seeing some sort of action?

The "ESPN Local" is a sham. Not only is the page terribly designed, they're all news story that one can easily find with a Google News search.
