Just saw this a few minutes ago-- they're applauding Yao Ming for his emotion after his turnaround baseline jumper late in the 4th. Dee Brown stated that's what he needs to be a significant player in this league w/o Tracy Mcgrady. I dunno what in the world he's been watching in the last few years but I think Yao has shown plenty of emotion, he just get's called taunting for it.
How does showing emotion after one play make you more dominant than quietly scoring the first 36 pts? I will never understand a comment like that. Making the shot makes him dominant, celebrating it makes him human.
You failed to mention how they ended the show; their play of the week was Blount posterizing Yao, and they took pleasure in it.
it's alright. the are the ones who are going to be kissing yao's balls when he wins a championship. losers. espn is the special olympics of sports broadcasting.
they sure did take pleasure in it...one of the espn analysts said that their play of the week "involved yao ming again "
And there were much better posterizations for them to choose from, such as Gay over Kaman, JR Smith over Zo, and Patterson over Curry.
That's bull crap. They wouldn't have done that to Shaq, 10 years ago, when Hakeem had his rings. People say they only treat Yao Ming like this because he doesn't have the respect of a ring, but I don't remember Shaq getting disrespected like that, when Hakeem had his 2 rings.
Warrick over _______. Don't remember who it was but it was nasty. Yao was actually helping off his man and recovered late on the Blount play. I can't honestly remember the last time someone dunked on Yao when he wasn't pre-occupied with something/someone else. He always gets caught in compromising situations and instead of giving up he contests it...that should be respected. The last person to really just posterize him was Stromile, 2 seasons ago. Speaking of contesting shots, did they praise him for the 6 blocks tonight? I doubt it.
I saw that too...Yao wasn't even really close to contesting the dunk. They might as well have said Blount posterizes the Rockets.
I'm so sick of these ex-jocks who couldn't even speak a couple of sentences without butchering the English language disrespecting Yao. Name me another profession where these jokers have their full repertoire of ignorance on display and getting paid in the process,it is beyond comprehension! Only in America(and ESPN)!
This is so predictable. The United States will never lose the Iraq war. We will hand it over to the Iraqis and eventually argue that they lost it. Yao Ming will never prove that a quieter, more disciplined, less American style can dominate basketball games. We will declare that he has embraced the American style and eventually argue that this is what made him a champion.
Sportscenter highlight showed about 10 3's from Arenas, one Yao jumpshot, and forgot to mention that Yao scored 38 pts.
I thought there was something wrong. I was hyped to see some Yao shots tonight, but instead we see a thing about Arenas shoes, heck he even gets a bad shot televised, but Yao, well he was non-existant to ESPN. I hate ESPN, but oh well, it's okay, one day Yao will have his revenge.
As usual, NBA TV gives the unbiased game recap. Their clip also clearly shows McGrady's injury if anyone wants to take another look at it.
Guys on ESPN are not Yao's drinking buddies. What's new? I think we better get used to their biased telecast.
i saw this on sportscenter too and i was gonna post but it happens so much that i just laugh at it now... he's a foreigner and dominating the nba, they don't want to believe it..
