As much as I hate Kobe Bryant, I gotta admit the kid has endorsed some pretty kick ass games. I thought the graphics and in-game controls for Courtside '98 were perfect. The only real beef I had with the game was the ridiculous amount of blocks that would accumulate as the game went on. Courtside 2 totally erases this problem, and IMHO offers perfect gameplay. They even did a better job on the graphics(though the jerseys are kinda sucky). The faces on the players are incredible. They aren't just a flat pasted photo. They have shape and depth and look exactly like the players they represent! The arcade mode totally blows away NBA Live's. The random multiple point shots are just too cool, as are the earth-shaking dunks. I only dislike one thing about the game, and that's the roster interfaces. It's a little inconvienient to do trades, and you can only determine your starters, not the bench order. That problem aside, Courtside 2 for N64 is my new all-time fave b-ball game blowing away past-fave NBA Live 98 for the PC. I haven't played Live 2000 yet, but I'm sure the N64 version got jaded again just like last year(no draft, franchise mode, etc.). How's NBA2K for DC? I'm dying to try that one out. Try NBA2K for the Dreamcast, it blows everything else out of the water. I don't personally have it, but friends have told me, and the times I've played it, it was great.
OMG mind blowing I remeber playing this game on my N64. At the time it was the best bball game I'd ever played. I like the bar on the top of the screen which showed how much and which team had the momentum.
Why thank you man! I was looking for like one of those old online stores that may sell old games.. but I guess eBay is a good option to turn to.
holy crap, this beats the oldest oldest thread I've ever seen (much less seen revived) by like 2 years ..this was 10 years ago!
Heh.. I was just searching on Google for NBA Courtside 2.. and I actually found this on google.. so I decided so post on it to see if anyone knew where I could get it. lolz.
NBA2K for Dreamcast totally changed basketball games. Man i miss that system, didn't get to have it for a year before they discontinued it.
I remember this game, NBA coutside ft. Kobe bryant. I lvoed that game, I thought it was better than NBA Live, who was the only competition at that time. They released a version on the gamecube too, NBA Courtside 2002.
This thread didnt even make it into the 2K's. Definitely the oldest post I've seen dug back up. But its better when people do it unintentionally, in a confused sort of way
Weird...I just purchased NBA 2K2 for the GC this afternoon. The starting lineup for the Rockets - Francis, Mobley, Griffin, Thomas, and Cato - ugh!
DUDE! I used to play this game so much. Loved it. I used to manually update the rosters, and never get the newest game.
WOWZER. I picked up a bunch of PS1 NBA games (NBA Live 96, 97, 98; In The Zone 96, 99; NBA Shoot 97, 98) for a quarter each the other day. Really mind-blowing to go back and see what was state-of-the-art back then. ItMyFault - you can find the ROM online without too much effort.
It was really part of a gift idea for someone lol.. I think he has his N64 going and I thought I might sneak in a surprise like this with his gift. Thanks though!
