When did it become an all-day commercial for League Pass? It used to be the coolest channel ever, but now it's just a five minute highlight loop.

Sorry if this has allready been adressed.

about a moth and a half ago...maybe longer. there have been many threads about it. 2 rockets games have already been missed because they were to be shown on nbatv but it no longer exist. no one can get a straight awnser from either nba.com or direct tv on why they screwed us and if at all they plan on fixing it.

According to my research, NBATV is be negogiated with the cable companies as we speak. SOme regions have NBATV while others get the preview channel.

This is correct. Apparently NBA TV is only available on Dish Network and DirecTV and NOT on Digital Cable at this time. Hopefully it will be added soon!

I have multiple email conversations with iNDemand, the NBA, and my digital cable provider, and here's what I understand:

Apparently, that old NBA.com TV channel no longer exists. That channel was provided to digital cable customers by iNDEMAND per an agreement with the NBA. A new channel called NBA TV was started by the NBA, which has nothing to do with iNDEMAND or NBA.com TV. The NBA just decided to skip the middle man and negotiate directly with the digital cable providers to carry this new channel. Unfortunately, they haven't reached an agreement yet with most providers, although they already have agreement with all satellite providers.

This has really been a pain for digital cable users, because they actually show lives games on NBA TV, and they consider these games "nationally televised." This means that these games cannot be shown on League Pass. There are five Rockets games shown on NBA TV this season that digital subscribers will miss.

So, in other words, the NBA has screwed us.

Thanks for the detailed info! I dont understand why they can't just work something out with InDemand!

Is InDemand currently in negotiations for this channel? Is there someone we should contact at InDemand to show our support for this channel?

From what I understand, iNDEMAND is not in negotiations for the channel, but rather the NBA is negotiating directly with digital cable providers, which would explain why some can get the channel and others can't. So, I don't really know how useful it would be to contact iNDEMAND, although they're the one's who explained to me the whole situation while the NBA and my cable company were giving me the run around.

Don't bother contacting the NBA, because they just have an automated response to the NBA TV question. I think the cable companies would be the best to contact, because from my experiences it seem like they're the most clueless. My cable company (Cox) didn't know jack about the NBA TV situation, so it would be good to make sure they at least know about it. I'd also threaten them with moving to DirecTV, eventhough it might not be a possibility. I also tried to get an NBA League Pass refund, but to no avail. :(

I've been wondering what the heck you guys have been talking about. I haven't really noticed any difference other than a slight change in the format, and a new host. Of course I have Dish Network so I guess that explains it. I personally don't see how anyone can still be with digital cable unless you are physically unable to have a dish.

Didn't someone here e-mail the NBA and receive a response from a person?

It was f'ing hilarious. I think the last line was something like "I know I'll receive an automated response cause the NBA doesn't care about its fans".
