All the regular names are mentioned, but no Chase Budinger and his sky-high shooting percentages; not even mentioned as a great steal for the Rockets. They honorably mentioned Beaubois, the French (I think) PG, but no CBudinger. Does he deserve to be mentioned? I'm actually quite glad they didn't mention him and put him in the 'limelight' but thought it was worth posting.
What? The media ignoring the promise of Rockets prospects (who went 5-0, by the way)? BALDERDASH! Lawson and Blair weren't as impressive as Budinger.
Oh Good! Thanks, I didn't check the nba.com article. Just saw that Yahoo got it from nba.com and assumed it would be the same thing. I guess that puts half the thread inspiration to rest.
Haha I noticed that too. Its typical though, as someone brought up in the Texans,Astros thread, Houston sports team get no media attention, but thats ok.
Hasheem Thabeet didn't live up to the second pick so far. With his frame, he never got more than 10 rbs. There's nothing alike our Deke ...
I think he just got good open looks thanks to the PG Jerryd Bayless's penetration/dribble work and kickouts. That's what happened in the houston vs portland game at least. Credit to him, he made all those open mid-range jumpshots.
No worries my friend. Nbadraft.net got your covered. They ranked him number 3 for the rookies that played in the summer league. 3. Chase Budinger - Houston / 17.8ppg, 2rpg, 0.8apg, 1stl, 68fg% Budinger slipped in the draft all the way to the 44th pick overall after many projected him to fall somewhere in the 1st round. During the last ten days, Budinger played like should have gone in the 1st round by scoring at a better rate than anyone in Vegas. In just 22 minutes a game he averaged nearly 18 points. He rarely missed a shot, connecting on 68.1 % from the field, and a ridiculous 72.7% from beyond the arc. Houston coach Rick Adelman likes defensive type players, but Budinger can earn minutes on any roster if he continues to shoot like he did in Vegas. Link
Daye has been a big surprise. He's long and raw, but really soft. He was non-existent at times for Gonzaga.
Brandon Jennings' pic looks like a mug shot I was impressed by his play, though. He's definitely got more than enough confidence to play in the league, but it'll be Skiles' job to keep him on track. IF that happens, Jennings could be special.
Of course... the Rockets players do not get the media attention they deserve. Seriously though are they on crack..? Chase had eye popping #'s
