I recently caught the norovirus(mistaken for foodpoisoning) during a visit to a science museum, they were giving out free drinks/food, and it was said to have been passed through that. More than 200 ppl that day were affected. Well I have been throwing up non stop, and have stomach cramps, and most of al everytime I think of eating something I get nauseated. I have been surviving on Ginger ale and Triscuit crackers. I'm O so hungry, and feel so malnourished. But everytime I think of eating something, I start throwing up again. So is there anything out there that is known to help relieve nausea, and also edible/drinkable. Thx for the help
Plain saltine crackers and lots of water.......whole lot of water and funions.....man!!! Bully.....man!!!!! Sorry, Half-baked quoting in progress.
How about a nice big thick steaming bowl of Wolf Brand Chili? Or you could go with eating maggots swimming in a deteriorated pig intestine while watching Fear Factor tonight. (I'm sorry, but the sight gag of you reading this and throwing up immediately on your monitor is just funny to me.)
You know, I've had a stomach virus probably ten times in my life, and I've had dozens of cases of the puking variety of the brown bottle flu (I don't learn real fast). The first food I'm able to keep down is ALWAYS Taco Bell. Go figure.
Whenever I become nauseated, I always reach for the syrup of ipecac. It's the best and you can't go wrong with it. Guaranteed to make you stop vomiting in a matter of seconds.
I got the virus from the food, which incidently happened to be Mexican food, Lots of bean burritos, and chicken too... Damn im feeling oozy again. Oh and the first thing I drank after throwing up, for some retarted reason, was a glass of milk... ya i know, but when you are hungry, youll put anything in your mouth not knowing the consecuences(sp?) I have been eating the salt crackers and drinking gatorade etc, but its not enough to actually give me energy.
Whatever you eat, make sure you drink a ton of water - it will help flush you out, but if you're vomiting a lot it's very important not to get dehydrated because that will compound the illness and cause a longer recovery time. Also try eating whole wheat bread and hard fruits like pears and apples. This is from my own experience with severe nausea. I'm not a doctor, but I'm very handsome. This is precisely why I prefer dating skinny women.
Lots of water, crackers, and chicken noodle soup. Soup and water will make you feel fool and the crackers will help the nasty taste in your mouth.
Why go to a science museum, when thadeus will drop all the science you can handle right here? It's beautiful.
lets get a few things straight 1. The visit to the science museum was extra credit for physics. 2. I AM A GUY.... STOP HITTING ON ME -------------- thx for the advice guys. Im gunna get someone to make me some chicken noodle soup
Quite possibly because the ingredients are never really digested but either adhere to the walls of your digestive tract or congeal into some substance that has a density greater than uranium that your body cannot force upwards, but will be happy to unleash downward. Of course, that's just a guess...
I have been sick too, but with something else. I think I might have Bronchitus (sp?). Nothing but coughing, I can't sleep and when I do I wake myself up to cough. When it gets late night the Coughing is insane. GOing to the doctor tomorow, finally.
I had that a couple of months ago, I feel sorry for you. All the doctor did was ask me 30 different times if I smoked, and i kept saying no. Then he finally took an Xray, and said it was bronchitis. WELL DUH, genious.... and then he said i needed rest. Thats why I dont go to the hospital anymore unless its an emergency.
