I believe the Eddie Griffin trade worked the same way. Rod Thorn knew the players he wanted and we picked them in compliance with a verbal deal.

This is flat out ridiculous. Najera is a planetarian who plays basketball hard. He plays effectively within Dallas' system, regardless of whether he is Mexican-Mexican, Mexican-Indian, Mexican-Sooner-Indian, or just plain purple.

Like Carlos Boozer and scores of others, Najera developed into a worthwhile player despite a low selection in the Draft. It is to his credit he did so.

What mistake? Are you calling a 2nd-round pick that is no longer on the team, but still in the league getting minutes, a 'mistake'?

He's probably above average for a 2nd-round pick. Like I said he was getting minutes for a playoff team last year. I just don't consider it a mistake to 'pass' on a guy that went #38.

I'm not really sure why I like some non-Rocket "hustle" type role players and wouldn't mind them on the Rox. Walt-ah McCarty, Ryan Bowen, Shane Battier or Bobby Sura (I've forgiven him for the Slim Shady FT incident) come to mind.

Then there's another group that would make me cringe if the Rox signed/traded for them ....Mark Madsen, Marcus Fizer, Ruben Patterson or Scott Padgett. This second group is where I place Najera. Probably a Big 12 thing...no Eduardo por favor.

I would love to see us pick up Najera. That dude is a stud, I remember him absolutely carrying Oklahoma in the NCAA's with a broken nose. And he has put on about twenty pounds of meat since he has been in the NBA. He is a great thug, exactly what we need backing up Yao and in my opinion would be a great starter at the four because he wouldn't demand the ball and would be a great defender and rebouder.

Wow, that word STUD is being thrown around a lot, first for Cato (http://bbs.clutchcity.net/php3/showthread.php?s=&threadid=63269) and now for Najera. Though Najera is a good player, I wouldn't call him a stud; same goes for Cato. Next thing you know, I'll be calling Tierre Brown a stud...:D

    Why is Nowitzki pronounced No-VITS-ki?
    Why is Stojakovic pronounced Sto-YA-ko-vich?
Why is Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski's name pronounced Shu-SHEF-ski?

    Jeez.
