    From Chron :

Forward Glen Rice and guard Cuttino Mobley were engaged in a friendly 3-point competition Sunday when they invited rookie Bostjan Nachbar and Moochie Norris to join in.

The rules were simple: Whoever makes 10 3-pointers first wins.

The results were entertaining. Nachbar won three rounds, and Norris won two. Mobley and Rice were shut out.

Nachbar, who attempted more shots in those five rounds than he has during the season, was amused.

"Cat and Glen were so loud at the beginning, and they wanted to play," he said jokingly. "So they pulled me and Moochie in, and it turns out they did nothing.

"I told them, `Don't mess with the shooters.' "

The guy seems to be a talented shooter. I have no clue why he doesn't get some time on the court. Don't make him take his man one-on-one. Set a few screens and double screens for him to just shoot. Maybe that aspect of his game is underrated, and if he shwos he can shoot in a real game, that would probably open up his slashing game.

I love what the guy can potentially bring. Apparently, if left slightly open, he can get to the basket in a hurry with very long strides. He's also apparently a slasher, which would fit in well with Ming, since Ming always hits slashers with the pass and Boki would have good chemistry with him (they're good friends). If he's able to hit his 3's, that would really open everything else up for him. I had hoped he'd get some minutes with Rice out but Posey and T-Mo are playing well, so it was out of the question.

I really wish Rudy would play Boki, I mean. ....THis team is going no where right now. How about giving the other guys a chance to show their worthyness while other players are in a slump.

I remember reading in an article last summer after we got Boki about how amazing he was with his shooting arm.

He hit many many shots in a row and RT said his shooting is amazing!

So....while all the rockets we have on the floor cant shoot worth a crap right now, why dont we give the other players a chance to prove themselves?!!!!!

    BOKI PLAYING TIME!!!

He's a terrible defender, and isn't muscularly built yet. I know it's hard to produce as a shooter when you're out many games and don't get much PT, and that the PT you usually get are garbage minutes, but the times I've seen him out there, he was playing terrible. His shoot looks good, but it always seems to clang, and his defense is very sub par. He also seems lost out there when he plays.

I got a friend who can really hits 3 in a shootout..... but in competition, his shot is completely off...... though after a few games of heavy playing time, he is hitting those 3's at ease..... close to 50% I must say......

Nachbar might need more playing time to get more comfortable and start hitting his shots...... defense wise, I believe we can run zone D, which doesn't really needs a player to really knows how to play 1 on 1 D but a player who are willing to commit in playing D...... I think Nachbar might be able to do so......

Even though Boki has no D and is not muscular, it sounds as if he could be our Bullard right now. Bullard had no D and was not muscular and could not jump, but he could hit the open 3. Let Boki take what Bullard used to take.

Who cares, there was no one guarding him. I've seen it stated before here, until I see what he does with a 6'10" genetic freak flashing a hand in his face, WITH GAME PRESSURE...then I'll be impressed.

Not doubting his development ability, but this is not news. This if anything plays to the fact that he can shoot in practice, which we all knew, and is why he is a Rocket and we spent our #15 on him.

Please stop with all this nonsense that Nachbar has no D. And that he can only shoot in practice but not in real games. I mean have you ever really see him play? I have and I can asure you that he is probably not the best defender there is, but please, he hasn't start playing BB yesterday. Also he CAN score in real games, all he needs are some minutes to build up his confidence.

C'mon Sane...no preferential treatment for rookies. The Rockets seldom use double screens for the veterans! ;) If he can't ISO...trade him. :)

I found it interesting that in a thread about Boki's shooting ability some posters want to criticise his defense...after he defeated Rice, Moochie and Cuttino in a shootout. Cuttino's getting better, but why are Rice and Moochie even mentioned in the same paragraph (or thread) with the word "defense"?

Nachbar hasn't gotten a chance to play, so how can anybody say he can't play defense? LOL, some of you guys have no idea what you are talking about.

I know that in limited minutes, I have seen Nachbar exhibit nice athleticism for a 6'10" rookie. Defensively, I think he might be fine, but since I haven't seen him play extended minutes, I HAVE NO FREAKIN' WAY OF KNOWING, lol.

Look, the back up SF job is TMo's to lose, and TMo has really improved. Is it fair to sit TMo down after he obviously spent the necessary time to work on his shot?

So what if his D stinks play a zone when he is in the game...having Griffin, Cato and Ming on the backline erases a lot of bad D.

Hell Steve can't play D and Rudy still plays him.
