RR, I think you're being a little harsh. Boki has shown tremendous improvement this year. Well, perhaps he'd have shown it last year if given a chance... but when a player's been as pleasant a surprise as Nachbar so far... why not give them a little time for improvement? Sort of strange that one of the great defenders of the guards would attack a player who's essentially a rookie for passing too much.
Huh, I thought he played terrific last night. The kid's got tools. I am not sure why you are so pissed off. He did pass up a wide open trey to Moochie, but other than that he was just terrific. I say we might get some out of him, unlike eddie the bust griffin.
boki's an okay player. he just needs more experience. he kinda folds under pressure. we need one of those charles oakley type nba players on our roster just to get boki focused back on the game when he screws up on the court.
Boki did pass up on wide open 3s at the top of the key...don't know why he didn't drain those open looks,.. he should shoot it more often, he has a good form, i llike him takin the 3s than moochie..but PLEASE GET A HAIRCUT MAN..BOWL CUTS GOTTA GO BRO if u wanna intimidate some defenders..he looks like a LOST SISSY on court...get a PEJA cut at least...

I have never seen so much praise for someone who is so obviously mediocre at best. Starting small forward of the future!! Are you guys high or something?? Maybe the starting small forward og the Washington Generals. This guy couldn't hold Matt Bullard's gym bag. And how is his being European some sort of a handicap?? Europe has produced some great NBA players, it's just too bad that Nachbar isn't one of them. And how come there aren't any trade Nachbar threads? And do you guys really believe that JVG is going to give him any more minutes once Pike starts playing?? I hope he starts playing better for the sake of the team but I won't hold my breath.
But why are you so certain? Nowitzki sucked his first year. Looked like a bust of almost Sam Bowe proportions. Nachbar is almost certainly no Nowitzki, but given the fact that he's already looking useful, and he's obviously still very raw... you're claims are unreasonable. You might be right, but it's certainly impossible to know. And when it's too early to tell, what's wrong with cautious optismism? His defense isn't bad. He hustles. His stroke is fairly good. He has good ball control on drives. He doesn't make stupid turnovers (already ahead of some in that department!). I see every reason for optismism.
Crash, I wished I shared your optimism there. To be honest, I have only seen the Rockets on the National TV games this year so I haven't seen TOO much of Nachbar. But from what I DID see he DOES look timid. Especially offensively. Defensively he gives good effort. But offensively he just looks awkward form what I have seen. Perhaps those were just his bad games and he did better in games that I was not able to see but I am still skeptical. I WANT him to be a solid role player. I am hoping. But I just dont know. Look forward to seeing what he does against Portland. JJ will probably have trouble being able to handle Rasheed's length tonight. Perhaps Nachbar will get some time on him and see some serious floor action. I really think at this point Nachbar's best chance at being a solid rotational guy with decent minutes is to hit the 3pt shot. If he can do that he is golden. But if not...then perhaps he is a liability on the floor.
The timing of this post is not good. Boki clearly had a breakout game against Golden State the other night. You can twist reality all you want. Hey, that's what the BBS seems to be all about, but Boki was aggressive and it paid off against the Warriors the other night. If Boki keeps that kind of slashing up, someone is going to have to commit on defense and that's when Cato (and hopefully eventually Yao) will be wide open for the oop.
This is the Rockets not the Clippers. Pike will have to share minutes with Boki. AGriff may be the one who's minutes suffer the most.
