    :D

How about I write your acceptance speak when you become voted president of a reknowned university or even governor of Texas :)

Thanks for the compliments - I give all the credit to the sound education I received at HCCS ;)

Like I said....in the minority. JVG remains a pros pro and it is only going to get better.

Anyway for semantics sake - the quote did not flat say lazy rather the notion that Mo not a hard, hard worker. Again I find that "alleged" (for benefit of doubt pruposes) quote out of character and herein hard to believe JVG will stick his name to a quote like that for the record. Coach's say a lot of thing off the record mind you and NY Post can be "posty" atimes.

That said, NY post is a tabloid-esque "news" outlet. Take that for what it is worth. Hey doesn't Peter Vecsey work or write for them as well?

That quote of "some coach" calling Mo lazy DEFINITELY does not look like it is JVG. The article DOES NOT at all mention it is JVG, but rather a "former" coach, whomever that may be.

So to assume it was JVG I think is misleading and a baseless assumption.

    Read your articles carefully, guys!;)

Thanks tigermission and SA Rocket for the clarification.

My original post and premise still stands untanned.

No the premisis is that JVG doesn't use the media
to take jabs at players. . .which is untrue
    he does . ..

It is just hypocritical because if a player does it
he is a bad guy . . .but if JVG does it .. he just motivating or some sh*t

I seem to remember JVG saying that Francis tried his best and that's all he could ask of him (is that a "jab?"). Hasn't said much about the MoT trade (unless an assistant coach is the same as JVG).

that article has no quote from jvg. i believe clutch mentioned somrthing about jvg telling people around the organization that mo was "lazy" the day he was traded.
anyways it doesn't matter, t-mac and barry have both called him the best coach they've ever played for and i'm gonna assume that all our rotation guys have similar feelings. he's far from a saint but he's honest and if you play hard for him he will give you your due and teach you at the same time.

I am not going to worry about JVG approach to handling players with quotes to the media. It has happened in the past no doubt, and other well respected coaches do it. I do not care if it does not hurt or undermine the team. The team is what is importtant nad keeping the chemistry in balance.

Right now everyoone is feeling really good about the Rockets chances for the rest of the season and possibly a nice little playoff run to get Yao and T-Mac some playoff time together. I know I am excited!!!!!

    Lets enjoy the ride!!!

We have a tough schedule ahead- lets win the games we should and steal a few we are not expected to.

If we win -let's do not worry about his approach to handling players with petty sniping little comments to the media!

Remember - a prophet may not be understood by his people or something.........You know the prophet is smart and the common people are too stupid to understand the prophet and his infinite wisdom,,,,,,

My impression earlier this season and also last season, was that JVG was talking too much about his players to the media, especially about problem children. Then it seemed to stop about the time everyone was speculating JVG might be short for this world - December? So just guessing here, but perhaps??? CD and Les gave Jeff a little coaching and told him to stick to coaching basketball and work on presenting a more positive image to the public???

I agree - JVG was "sent to the woodshed" in Dec. or at least talked to by the owner- something changed at that time. No sniping for a while now...

    I beleive this as well
I think Les even told him to open up the offense too

I remember during that time Les was upset with
the lack of point production and boring basketball as well

Wasnt it the subtle mentoring of Rockets03 that was responsible for all these changes?
