Hopefully, my opinions don't translate into another war of words, and the eventual locked thread.

    #1- OU

I had them #1 last week, and after handling a pretty good CU team, they remain on top. Brandon Everage is the best DB in the nation. I can't imagine how good OU would be if they didn't have Hybl crippling them at QB.

    #2- Miami

A 3rd so-so performance for the Canes in a row. When Mia is playing their best, they are better than anyone. However, it's been a while since they brought their A-game. They should defeat VT by 10-14 pts come December. It'll be interesting to see if Miami is playing so-so, out of boredom. They play @ Tenn sometime soon (this week?) but should beat them soundly.

    #3- Ohio State

By virtue of Va Tech and UGA going by the wayside, and a pasting of Minnesota, OSU is now in the #3 slot. On paper, they should be able to win out, even against b****igan, who is the most overrated team in the nation.

    #4- Washington State

They have the most underrated corps of WRs in the nation, who are all big and damn fast. They host Oregon and should win by at least a TD.

    #5- Texas

They back their way into this spot with all the unbeatens going down faster than a buffet line with devestata. They have a pretty easy schedule from here on out, in terms of avoiding top 15-20 caliber teams. Tech just doesn't matchup well with UT, as UT will let Tech dink and dunk with their 2-yard pass offense.

    That's it.

WSU is not better than Texas. I know you are a Pac-10 homer but come on.

In fact, they aren't best team in that conference, that honor goes to the Trojans of USC.

As far as Ohio State goes-they have to be one of the worst undefeated teams in a long time. Who have they played outside of Columbus? All their so called "big wins" have come at home. See TT, WSU, PSU.

So in conclusion, as I posted in an earlier thread it's 1. OU 2. Miami 3. Texas 4. OSU 5. USC 6. WSU 7. IOWA

An undefeated team in a major conference shouldn't be behind a one loss team under any circumstance.

    NYK,

This time I disagree. Look at this schedule.

    August 24 Texas Tech W 45-21 6-4 overall, 3-2 big12
    September 7 Kent State W 51-17 3-6 overall, 1-5 in the MAC
    September 14 No. 11 Washington State W 25-7 8-1, 5-0 in P-10, ranked 5th
    September 21 at Cincinnati W 23-19 3-5, 2-2 in conference
    September 28 Indiana W 45-17 3-6 1-4 in big10
    October 5 at Northwestern W 27-16 3-7 1-5 in big10
    October 12 San Jose State W 50-7 4-6, 2-3 in the WAC
    October 19 at Wisconsin W 19-14 6-4, 1-4 in big10
    October 26 No. 17 Penn State W 13-7 6-3 3-3 in big10, ranked 21st
    November 2 No. 19 Minnesota W 34-3 7-2 3-2 in conference, #19
November 9 at Purdue 12:00 PM ET 4-5, 2-3 in conf
    November 16 at Illinois TBA 3-6 2-3 in big10
    November 23 No. 13 Michigan 12:15 PM ET 7-2 4-1 in the big10

Combined record: 63-57. Take out WSU(Like I did with OU-hardest game for each team) and its 55-56.

3 ranked wins(Minn, PSU, WSU-all at home, and Tech, Wisconsin, Michigan as other solid games, only 1 of these is not at home.

They have played one road game of note-at a terrible Wisconsin(mediocre at best) team.

    That schedule is an insult.

Sorry, but I think I have a valid point. OU would kill OSU.

    In fact, lets compare UT-OSU.

    Texas schedule:

    1. UNT-home-win 27-0, UNT is 4-5, 3-0 IN Conf.
    2. UNC-away- Win 52-21, 2-7 overall, team has packed it in
    3. UH-home-win 41-11, 4-4 overall, 2-3 CUSA
    4. Tulane-away-win 49-0, 6-3 overall, 3-2 CUSA
    5. Oklahoma State-home-win 17-15, 4-4 overall, 2-2 in big 12
    6. OU-neutral-lost 35-24, undefeated, ranked number 1
    7. KState-away-won 17-14, 7-2 overall, 3-2 in big 12, ranked 14th
    8. ISU-home-won 21-10, 7-3 overall, 4-2 in big 12, ranked 23rd
    9. NU-Away-won 27-24, 6-4 overall, 2-3 in big 12, down year
    10. Baylor-home-3-6 overall, 1-4 big 12, terrible
    11. Texas Tech-away-6-4 overall, 3-2 in big12
    12. Aggies-home-5-4 overall, 2-3 big12

So our combined opponents record is: 62-46. Take out OU and it's 54-46. With 3 ranked opponents, and 3 or 4 more solid games(OSU, NU, Tech, Aggies)

Home-ISU, Tech, Aggies, Road-K State, NU, Tech, Neutral-OU

If your biggest road win is a 19-14 win over a 1-4 big10 team you are not undefeated nor NC material. They are Georgia part 2 and the SEC is better than this schedule.

Texas has beaten NU-comp to Wisconsin, on the road, and KState which OSU cannot say. It's more impressive than beating Minn-who lost to purdue, or Michigan at home. ISU at home is comparable to PSU. OSU is comparable to Purdue, Tech on the road is obviously harder than Tech at home, OU and WSU are comparable-except neutral site and the fact I think OU is better and I will admit Mich at home is tougher than this years Aggies at home, but still does not make up the gap.

Sorry, but Texas has a few quality road wins, OSU does not, and OSU didnt have to play the best team in the country in OU.

    I rest my case.

I knew I would get called on that, but in my estimation WSU is soft and USC is not. I think the trojans have the best balanced offense and defense in the conference. But thats my opinion. I think they are pretty even though.

    OU killed Texas, too.

It's hard for me to say OU should be ahead of Miami, as I don't usually believe in dropping without losing.

I can't take an undefeated major conference team being below a 1 loss team. Just like I couldn't say 1. OU 2. Miami until #117 Rutgers was a few plays away from defeating  Miami. It can change if a Rutgers-like situation occurs.

I can never seem to get into college football. I am more into the pros. I am a huge Eagles fan. We got lucky against the Bears today.

College Football's much more exciting than the pros, I think.....1 loss can take a team's championship hopes away.

    You can be a sooner fan,then we'll have 3 out of 1,000!;)

LOL. That is true about the 1 loss thing, but there are so many teams and the Bowl system sucks.

I guess I would rather be a bad team with no losses than a team with one loss hoping the "worst" undefeated team gets beat. OSU takes care of business. It's a shame Texas couldn't take care of business, again, but hey that's football. We had the same problem here at OSU for a few years, so I feel for you.

As for who we play at home/road that just happens. The big ten schedule is a rotating thing and we will be playing at WSU in a few years.

OSU beat WSU (top 6 team), Texas Tech (remember alot of you were calling for Kliffy to be a Heisman candidate), Penn State (top 25 team), Minnesota (was a top 25 team until we blew them up), and we play Michigan (who is near/at the top 10). Say what you want but Texas has not beat one top 10 team this year.

    How?

    Think about...

Revenue sharing, salary cap, ridiculous fines for legal hits and wearing too much eye blackener, penalties for celebrating (something that makes individuals like Terrell Owens stand out from the masses).

The NFL is the single most sports entity that replicates Communism.

Like its forefather (Communism), the NFL will fall on its face before too long.

And your case is Texas lost right?

Take care of business on the field and you don't have to justify how/why you lost and why you should be the top ranked team with a LOSS.
