Act I: The Rockets continue to slowly improve and play pretty impressive basketball without McGrady.

Act II: (Re)Enter Tracy McGrady. The star comes back to the lineup, but struggles a bit at first, and the team doesn't immediately improve... they maybe even take a short step backwards. This should last no more than five or six games.

Act III: NBA fans and (especially) growingly impatient Rockets followers officially lose it. Everyone is calling for McGrady's head, rumors about trades spread like wildfire, "TEH TEAM IS BETTER WITHOUT HIM!!1one", all while McGrady and management remain almost completely mum on the issue.

Final Act: McGrady is reassimilated into the lineup, catches up with everyone else in Adelman's offense, blends beautifully with it, reminds everyone why he is one of the smartest players in the the game, the Rockets roll into the playoffs, and come out of June with title #3.

... Oh, and Stevie returns and plays a big role, too. :D ... OK, that part may be more wishful thinking, but I still believe it can happen.

    That's not a prediction.

You gotta choose a better one, like wish? ;)

    Though, I have it too.

A web site predicted on December last year that T-Mac will return on 01/11 vs Minnesota. If the prediction is correct it will aprove that T-Mac has used the same way to fool us, fool Yao for the past years, especially last year from 12/12- 12/23.

I think one thing that everyone is missing is the fact that this team was not always bad.

The Rockets started the season 6-1, playing the likes of the Lakers, Jazz, Trailblazers, and even the Spurs.

In my opinion that could not have been a fluke. When looking at the way we were playing, everything was meshing. The reason that things are so wishy-washy right now is due to all the disruptions on the court, and probably in the locker room as well. When we see these articles about T-Mac asking for trades, etc etc. I'm sure the players on the team see them as well. And when asking yourself, WHO is the one guy everyone has looked up to time and time again. Yes, although Yao has grown in terms of that role, it has been T-Mac and he has brought that role upon himself.

But looking at the way we are playing right now, we don't need T-Mac do mesh, we just need to make sure he doesn't slow us down. That's the one big downside that T-Mac has. He slows it down because he is still feeling that half-court offense. But with the way AB, Raf, and the other are playing it might be time for him to start running.

    I don't think I understand.

Oh, and I forgot to add something to the "Final Act": T-Mac haters and Rockets doubters who call themselves "fans" will eat a Thanksgiving's feast worth of crow.

... But those small handful of games where we might struggle a bit after he comes back will be torture for the rest of us... So hopefully that's the one part I'm wrong about, and McGrady immediately takes the team sky high, hehe.

You were quieter than a feather falling on a pillow after his games on that road trip, but I bet you threw a party when you heard that he had tendinitis, you hateful troll...

If he can get healthy, he will likely be the best PG on this team.... But if Alston keeps shooting anywhere close to how he his has been shooting the past 5-6 games, I don't care either way. Sadly, I doubt he will... Anyways, I don't want to turn this into an argument about Francis, so go away.

There is a difference between prediction and wishful thinking.

I dunno, Francis definately played differently following the fall. Before that, he had shown some flashes, but was still a bit out of shape. It should be assumed that his conditioning would improve with more PT(which he had earned). We will have to see what he does when he gets healthy again, and I think his chances are just as good of getting in the rotation as being the 11th man.

Good scenarios except Act III. An NBA championship is not in the cards with the current PG situation. Too many great PG's in the West. AB is a great hope but don't believe he will be ready to lead this team out of the West by June.

OK, OK, the part about going ALL the way was admittedly some wishful thinking (but I definitely still believe it's a real possibility), but for the most part, that is how I see the rest of the season playing out. I think we will end the season on a strong run... Kinda like 04-05 and 06-07, but the difference is that this time, at least something will come of it in the playoffs.

Third time's the charm. I believe...

I like your typical hollywood melodramatic plot.

But I totally can see the season goes titanic, Yao sinking in the ocean of season ending injury telling everybody on the team, go on to live. While Tmac is the in the life boat sailing away. And the capatian Adelman goes down with the ship of Rockets.

It did sound a little Hollywood-esque when I thought about it. That's why I broke it into Acts. :D ... But really, it makes sense. That's what usually happens after a key player comes back from injury and the team was doing pretty well while he was out. McGrady is a talented and intelligent enough player, though, that it should mitigate that problem.

Of course what you said *could* happen, too. You can never predict injuries. If that did happen, though, they would find me under a bridge somewhere. The world would be -1 Rockets fan.

Yao is the cancer to this team. If Rockets wants a third title, get rid of Yao when he still has some value--the sooner the better!

I gotta admit, whenever I've been on this board all I've heard is some serious Francis hate coming from you. I'm not a big Francis fan but I also don't dislike him. If he can get in shape and provide anything close to the Phoenix game in a backup role what's wrong with someone wishing that?

You seem to hate him like he made love to your mom and your girl at the same time while you watched from the closet or something.

We get it. when he does bad you jack off, when he did good you disappeared. Now, he is not even playing, time to let it go imo.

Actually you don't like the Rockets and you're hoping Yao can get traded to a "better" team.
