As of tomorrow, 9PM CT, I will be doing something that has never been done before (it probably has, it just sounded cool) - I will be attempting to sleep 80% of the following 6, maybe 7 day duration.

Reason? For the hell of it.

I will only wake up to eat breakfast, lunch, & dinner and to pee (or crap).

There will be no TV, no going out, no nothing. I will be trying to force myself to sleep without any sleeping pills. And if I can't sleep, I will keep my eyes closed.

In the meantime, I hope the Rockets beat the Jazz, Warriors, and Blazers. I will be dreaming of it at least.

End Result? I will probably be feeling either super energetic or feel like crap.

Interesting Fact: For the past year or two, I have averaged 6 hours of sleep every night. And lately my memory has been awful. So I am hoping this experiment helps out my cognitive abilities.

That is all. It starts tomorrow. Wish me luck!

    And by the way,

that is 115.2 or more hours of sleep out of 144 hours. (6 days)

That's a lot of food to be eating for someone who won't be doing one bit of physical activity...

It'd be awesome if someone sets fire to your house while you sleep.

    Good luck.
When I quit smoking I drank and partied all day and night July 2/3. Had my last cig around 6am . Then set up the spare bedroom to be a den of solitude and slept/recovered for about 2-3 days. It worked great.

it wont help your cognitive abilities much. You need 7-8 hrs of restful sleep continously for at least a month. And your body will start to shutdown due to lack of use, screwing up your metabolism. You WILL feel like crap on day 7.

Bad idea man, get more sleep, but spread it out, just take some naps or go to bed earlier whichever works. Shacking yourself up isnt going to work, you'll feel like crap when its all said and done

The funny thing is if this is true, posting about why it's a bad idea won't matter because he's asleep.
