Yup, that's typically where you get the worst drone. That's right in your cruise speed on a road trip. Borrow a car for a road trip. Especially if you're taking passengers. Unless you hate them, and are trying some sort of information out of them. Exhaust drone is basically waterboarding on a road trip.
This. An exhaust alone isn't going to give you much, if any horsepower. Back in the day when I had my toy HR Z before I turbo'd it out, I installed an HKS Exhaust ($1700) Berk HFC's, JWT light flywheel and a Stillen Gen 3 CAI. It was loud and I had butt speed, but it wasn't until I had an Uprev tune where I was able to see noticeable gains. So much money wasted though, so glad I don't have to mod cars any longer. It was fun and addicting, but such a huge waste of cash.
Yeah, the days of "put an exhaust on it!" are dead, ESPECIALLY in N/A vehicles. 10 years ago you could do that and get some ok gains, but performance wars are at such a high between companies now, exhausts are less restrictive than ever. Factory intakes aren't bad anymore, either. They restrict sound more than anything. It's all in the tune.
Nah Ill make sure I take my wife's Benz GLK on road trips. I don't like taking my car on road trips anyway I've got 18000 miles on it and got it in 2010
Just got them installed at the muffler shop. They are some sick mufflers. I don't regret getting them at all. The drone isnt bad at all especially in the highway and its not unbearably loud inside the car. Only word I can say is perfect. Its exactly what I wanted
