Not sure if there's much interest in the cf.net world for bossa nova...but I started getting into it a bit as of late (after hearing it at a Texas De Brazil). Not quite sure where I can find good sounds...I've been listening to Pandora's Brazilian channel...which seems to have quite a bit of decent tunes. Curious if anyone else is into bossa nova and if so, do you know of any other decent online streaming sites. I tried sky.fm...but their channel really didn't fit the bill (in my mind).
a "safe" entré into the bossa nova world are some of the classic Impulse jazz albums with Getz/Gilberto, Charlie Byrd, Coleman Hawkins, etc.

I've been a fan of the Getz/Gilberto album for a long time as a fan of jazz music, but never really branched out from there with any Brazilian Music too much until, oddly, "A Life Aquatic" brought Seu Jorge to my attention. I decided then that there must be a lot of good Brazilian music that I would enjoy. I have a few albums of stuff I randomly found or was advised to try, but love hearing things I hadn't before. I don't know that it's just bossa nova style stuff, but a few I like are... Céu - Cangote EP Rosalia de Souza - Garota Moderna Sonantes - Sonantes Zuco 13 - The Now Sound of Brazil 2 Paula Morelenbaum - Berimbaum and it's not bossa nova, really, but I do like the song "James Bonde" by Bondé de Rolé of of "With Lasers". Have tried other stuff by them but nothing else sounded worth a flip. Lastly, something about this joke that has ruined me when hearing the word Brazilian... can't ever remember exactly, but basically.... An adviser came to the president and said "President Bush, 3 brazilian soldiers were killed in an attack today." After a moment or two of deep concern and thought, he replies "What a travesty.... I... don't know what to say except... How many are in a brazilian?" Sorry. can't get rid of it. I don't even know if that's how it goes exactly, but I can't hear the word Brazilian without laughing a bit.
You have probably heard it already, but the Ultra Lounge series has a Bossa Nova album. "Bossa Novaville" it's Volume 14. http://www.amazon.com/Bossa-Novaville-Ultra-Lounge-14/dp/B000002UH7 I love the whole collection.
