This movie is going to suck so bad. I hope it doesn't but I don't see how it won't. I'm talking one of the the worst comic book movies of all time. I talking Rotten Tomatoes rating of under 20%.
You're only saying that because you are an atheist who doesn't believe in gods. That said they should cast this guy.
That girl is a great selection for any film imo. She was the only part of Rest Stop that was worthy of screen time.
I know what you're saying. Next Tuesday is going to suck so bad. I hope it doesn't but I don't see how it won't. I'm talking one of the worst weekdays ever. I talking cup half empty, 50%. I don't see a point in living past Monday.
If I remember my comics Loki is supposed to be a skinny wussy dude. Also I might just see the movie for that.
^ well if that picture didn't sway you, Natalie Portman is also in there. Now the question is, who is not going to see that movie?
Thor is going to be a tough sell to mainstream audiences to begin with. People suspend disbelief for aliens or super heroes spawned by lab accidents but a viking carrying a magic hammer is going to be tough for people to see and not laugh a little inside. Trying to fit that into a modern day scenario will be weird. How is not going to look ridiculous to have a viking chilling in downtown Manhattan (or any city)? Even making the costumes not look ridiculous will be a task. Now I'm hearing DeNiro is in it? This sounds like one of those "big name plus big budget equals crap" scenarios. I'm totally guessing here but super-vikings with over-the-hill actors don't seem like a winning combo to me. Comic book nerds, I apologize for striking a nerve with you. I'm just being honest.
Hey, I feel the same way you do. I read comic books, and Thor is lousy material to work with. I would really be surprised if anything good came out of movie. Kinda feel the same way about Captain America, at least if they stick with the traditional costume and shield(which pretty much IS captain america).
Maybe they'll do the ultimate universe version (movies actually been using a lot of stuff from the Ultimate universe because the characters are more modern). I think Thor was a world trade protesting hippie with godly powers a following (think Jesus). I think they do some Last Temptation of Christ story line with that.
Waitwaitwait....so movies about a guy with razor blades coming out of his hands will fly, movies about a guy with spider webs shooting out of his wrists will fly, and movies about a brooding bat with mom and dad issues will fly....but a movie based on a (superhero version of) a deity that's has been around for a few thousand years will NOT fly? Granted, as is true with all things, it COULD very well suck, but I'm having some serious trouble following your logic.
First official pic from the next big Marvel Comics movie (aside from the fixing to debut Iron Man 2) Thor hits the web. and here is the pic.... Chris Hemsworth as Thor:
