This film was downright gripping. Dynamite cast -- Renner shines the brightest, and I thoroughly enjoyed Pete Postlethwaite's (Kobayashi in The Usual Suspects) role. Definitely a must-see.
Spoiler I think it was because the specific type of wiring cut and knowledge of how to cut the wire at the first bank job was specific to those who had training at a big utilities company like that.
Sorry to bump this I saw the movie the other day and i loved the music when Doug and Jem step out of the car to go beat up the 2 guys and Jem shoots one... i can't find the song anywhere, but if anybody can i will rep you every post you make lol
This movie was entertaining enough and well made/acted, but the whole "thief with a heart of gold" thing is kind of insulting. I like how they unload clips at cops but none get hit of course, can't have our noble criminal with blood on his hands.
I just saw this movie and I can't believe that it got so many good reviews. The whole thing was one long Affleck jerk off session. And I've got to agree with Commodore here. We're supposed to buy that Affleck's character is some kind of good guy when he commits multiple robberies, that put many innocent lives in jeopardy, but miraculously, we see no one killed. That might make it a little jarring when we see Affleck looking soulful for the thousandth time.
Actually we saw a lot of cops get killed, All the robbers unloads like 1000 rounds on the Swat team, miraculously, Affleck's bullets never cause any casualty.
I liked it well enough, but yeah the hype was pretty overblown. Like that movie Crash a few years back. It was pretty good but it didn't warrant the collective orgasm so many people seemed to have.
