i was wondering if you guys have had good or bad experiences at these. I went last saturday to catch the last showing of Silent Hill, i really enjoyed the movie, that being said, i really cant see myself going back on a saturday night. It was by FAR the most horrible experience ever in a theater. For one, it was 3 of us and the only section of the theater that had 3 seats was way in the front. then the soda machines didnt work, then it took forever to take out order. People would talk and u can hear them chewing, babies crying and yet no one would take them out of the theater. btw this is the one off Richey, and well i wont continue but lets just say i wont be going back on a weekend. What about u guys?
Is this the new Studio Movie Grill that's opening up in Houston? I love this place in Dallas...Beer, decent food and a movie...All in leather chairs...pretty cool...the only problem of course is if you're late, you have to sit in the front...
oh damn i thought most people knew. u can go to www.movietavern.com and check it out. Yea its basically a movie theater/grill or restaurant. the food is pretty good, its just not a good idea to go on a weekend.
Naw...the Movie Tavern is like a really really cheap version of the Studio Movie Grill. Its not near as nice. The Studio Movie Grill used to be the Grenada Theatre. Used to be only one (on Lower Greenville, then they opened the 2nd one near the Dallas Galleria.) Then they were both sold and the Original was closed. We have a Movie Tavern here in Hurst and one in Arlington. Food and atmosphere is MUCH BETTER at the Studio Movie Grill. But we still go to the Movie Tavern when we're really hungry. Hope things are going good for ya over in N'Dallas.
I thought these types of places were designed to avoid the kids crying in a movie theater? I know the one on I-45 near Nasa Road 1 doesn't even let kids in under the age of five...
Yeah, The Alamo Drafthouse is the same way. I've never had a problem with talking or crying babies there.
yea there are certain ones that dont allow children, this obviously wasnt one of them. it was a ghetto version i guess, people kept blurting out **** during the movie. it was annoying. i should have gone to the magic johnson theater at northline mall instead. atleast that stuff is expected there.
The place off of richey was originaly supposed to be an Alamo Draft House. There was some kind law suit between the owners and now its called The Movie Tavern. I havn't been to the place, but would like to check it out.
What's up...finally got you to post...Everything good here...we all need to get together for a Stros' game in the near future...HOpe things are well...
They're all Alamo Drafthouse ripoffs anyway. Especially the one on Nasa Rd 1 and 45. I'd avoid that place like the plague. Terrible service, worse food, had a few sanitary issues, and to top it off a girl I know who worked there said the main shift manager is in his 40s and regularly goes out with a girl who wasn't even done with high school at the time. That and he was a grade A jerk when I tried to say hi to her briefly last summer before the movie. I could go on but I cannot stress how much I'd stay away.
We need GO to a 'Stros' game...not watch it on TV. We ought to get the whole group and buy a bunch of tickets.. I know a bunch of Astros fans up here. when does interleauge start...There will probably be more Astros fans than Rangers fans at Ameriquest this year. There's been a lot in the past, but after this years great start...
Good Call... I looks like they play the weekend of June 30th up here...Need to get a roll call later...For those of you that drive a Lexus, this year, you can valet park for free...Woohoo...
NNNNNOOOOOO!!!!! thats the weekend of my daughters baptism/christening. We'll have a million relatives in town!!! Most of whom are my wifes relatives...none of which are Astro's fans.
