George Cloony kicked ass Brad Pitt kicked ass Matt Damon kicked ass Bernie Mac kicked ass Elliot Gould kicked ass That little Chinese dude kicked ass Julia Roberts is still hot Casey Affleck is still a dork A lot of people have bashed the film as being too shallow and predictable, but I liked it...Funny, fast paced, and a nice twist at the end... Up next, Ali and Vanilla Sky
I thought it was a good movie but not very funny. In fact I was surprised by how unfunny it was. Bernie Mac standing on a street corner would be funnier than this movie. I'm not a Clooney fan so the cool act didn't work for me but I thought Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, and Andy Garcia were pretty good. I liked how throughout the movie Brad Pitt is always eating something. That was funny to me and it reminded me of old movies where gangsters are always eating something before they go whack somebody. Go see Amelie!! It runs circles around Ocean's 11.
I'm trying to count the 11: 1) Pitt character 2) Saul 3) Ramon 4) Rubin 5) Brother 1 6) Brother 2 7) The Bomber 8) The Computer Guy 9) The Chinese Guy 10) The New Guy Who is 11?
Very good movie. It wasn't great, but it was fun, interesting, and flowed well (??). I did think it was a little short, if you can believe that. It seemed more like a 30 minute TV show where everything is wrapped up in the 20 minutes of show time minus commercials. A little too neat and quick. I'm not a Clooney "fan" either, but he doesn't bother me. It's like Tom Cruise or Bruce Willis. I don't like them as people (don't necessarily hate them), or even solely as "actors", but they are in good movies. I do like Clooney more than those to hacks, though. I am a big Brad Pitt fan. I think most people severely underrate him. All the eating was sort weird though. Oh, and I don't see what all the fuss is with Julia Roberts... She's not ugly, but dang, there's plenty of better looking women out there, IMO.
Do you mean cinematically or in terms of entertainment? What critics and fans of movies like Amelie in general tend to do is lump all movies together. That's a mistake. You have to view a movie in what it was trying to accomplish. I say this without having seen Amelie, or knowing your opinion on the matter.
If people haven't seen the movie I don't want to get detailed, but that was one of the many questions people were asking leaving the theater. That and what happened in the last scene.
Well, really I meant both. I found it more entertaining and a better made movie with a wittier, more thoughtful story and more interesting characters. I don't know what you mean by lumping all movies together. Is that the artsy-fartsy thing? I see lots of movies, kind of a relaxing hobby I guess, so I really enjoy seeing things that are different and thoughtful instead of just the same ole Hollywood formula stuff. Ocean's 11 was just formula stuff to me and even though it was entertaining there was not much there that you haven't seen before. George Clooney not being Daniel Ocean but just being George Clooney trying to be cool. I like it when the people act instead of play themselves. Know what I'm sayin!?
I saw Ocean's 11 last night. It was pretty mediocre. Not bad, but not good either. And can someone explain the big deal with Julia Roberts. Do some people find her horse-mouth attractive?
My favorite movie of the year. Nothing groundbreaking or anything, I just thought that it was a great story, with great performances. I didn't stop smiling from the opening to the closing.
OH it was great. I liked it alot, and I'm not one to use hyperbole and consider myself overly critical. A couple of things confused me at the end.
I think its more of the fact that people like that she's a down to earth, girl next door type, even though she's a mega start. Not so much physical appearance but people tend to like her personality.
