I thought it was okay. Cheesy at times. I'd give it a 7.5/10.

very odd reason stopped me from watching this movie...
it didn't seem believable that these 2 could be lifelong buddies that grew up together

that and the mixed reviews from rottentomatoes

Wanted to see it but didn't get a chance to last weekend, will probably rent it when it hits bluray. Critical reviews have been pretty horrid.

Good, fun dystopian sci-fi. If that's a good genre for you, you'll probably like the movie. I really thought the ending made the story for me.

Reminds me of Surrogates so I'm guessing it will be awful.

never saw surrogates but it did seem pretty out there.

repoing body parts, although extreme, is actually somewhat fathomable

To me the style of both movies although I've only seen the trailer to Repo Man seem excessive and too stylized.

When a preview makes a movie look like a music video I tend to assume it's because the plot itself provides sufficient substance.

    Could I be wrong? maybe.

lol...you guys and RT.com I never go there....went a couple times and looked up movies I loved just to find out they hated it.

They did a good job on being unique and I could see this actually happening on a not so extreme level.

Both played they parts really well...its a nice action flick..with a great twist...

Isn't worth the price of admission for the theatre, but I would recommend this movie for everyone to watch when it comes out on DVD. The story was better than most Hollywood movies these days, made for a good conversation after the movie. The trailers did not do a good job in making the movie very appealing, but I guess they didn't want to give away too much...yet I kind of had an idea where they were going with it from the beginning, wasn't hard to figure out. I'd give it a solid 3 out of 5 stars.

I didn't have much expectations watching this, the trailer didn't really wow me to see it, but it was better than expected, it was a good mindless flick with some surprising good action scenes in it. It was very Tarintino-esque in terms of violence and I'd give it a solid 4 out of 5.

interesting fact, movie was based on a novel "The Repossession Mambo" by Eric Garcia, same author who wrote "Matchstick Men" which was one vastly underrated movie that came out in '03 with Nicholas Cage/Sam Rockwell

When I first looked at the movie poster I thought Jude Law was Eminem.

I didn't think too much of it. The end kind of saved it a bit actually. I didn't think there was a whole lot of chemistry between Law and Whitaker. Plus it didn't do a great job and giving the viewer a sense of time. The other thing is that they didn't really play too much on the future aspect of things.

I will say that it was one of those movies that had you thinking afterward.

i thought it was a good movie and like you mentioned... a little more thought provoking than some folx[/rocketriver] gave it.

the whole thing about "a job is a job" was repeated throughout. then a backtrack with the jude quote:

"in the end a job is not just a job. it's who you are. and if you don't like who you are, you have to change what you do."

just thought that was interesting. you know... with the way that a lot of people work with jobs that they don't particularly like.
