You mean to tell me nobody has seen this besides me? Or are you afraid talking about a kids movie about rats might ruin your street cred here on the board? Well, I saw Ratatouille with the family a couple of days ago AND LOVED IT! There, I said it. I'm a big fan off all things Pixar and this movie was no exception. I'm just blown away by how far animation technology continues to expand. I thought the story was the most adult friendly of all the Pixar movies. I was never bored and was disappointed it had to come to an end. I look forward to buying the dvd when it comes out with all of the behind the scenes extras.
I can not wait to see this as well as Transformers. Unfortunatly I am stuck in Lima, Peru for work and will return to Colombia later this month so they are not in theaters yet. Im debating on whether or not I should buy them on the street (because they are already available and are selling for like $1 here.) I think I should wait until they both hit theaters because it will be worth it to see them on the big screen. (especially Transformers) Anyway Ratatouille is CLEANING UP on Rottentomatoes. It looks like its going to be a surefire cant miss.
I'm going to go see this and Transformers this weekend when I get off work tomorrow and drive back down to Houston.
I loved it too. It really confirms that Pixar is on a whole other level from other animation studios.
Saw it; liked it. Animation was sublime. Pixar just keep getting better and better. The Pixar short film Lifted (that was run first) was better than Ratatouille. The only problem Pixar has is its own back catalog. Ratatouille was not as good as Toy Story I or II, Monsters Inc., or The Incredibles. I would say that Ratatouille was Ant Story good.
Saw it my wife and kids last Friday. We all loved it. The lighting and textures were incredible. It opened a little on the preachy side, but the story was great. I like how Brad Bird's stories hammer away at life's possibilities and living up to one's own potential. I especially enjoyed the ending.
I liked a lot as well. My son owns every 3D movie known to man, I've watched all of them a ton of times and I thought it is one of the better movies. Not great but very good. Wish it could have been funnier though. Certainly A HELL OF A LOT better than Cars!!!!
I give it a solid B....I thought it was good, but perhaps not as good as the best. And...how dare you demean Cars...that one gets better each time you watch it...... DD
I saw this last night. I thought it was awesome, my girlfriend not so much. I thought it was a brilliant movie. Hell, 96% on rottentomatoes.
Eh. I don't know, it just annoys me for some reason. Maybe I can't get over the whole 'the world is made up of cars' thing. Just weird they have doors but there is no reason for them to have them - know what I mean? It may also be the fact my son watched it 4,000,000 times last summer.
I love Pixar and enjoyed the movie. I don't know if it's true or not, but I heard a rumor about Toy Story 3 in 2009!
pretty good movie. i like to cook though. i generally dont like american animation too much. for example cars just doesnt do it for me at all. the first shrek was pretty sweet though. if anyone here has children or likes these kind of movies check out spirited away if you havent seen it. it won best animation at the oscars a few years ago. and is the top grossing movie ever (at least when it came out) beating out titanic in japan. japan in general just makes more appealing animation in my opinion.
Has anyone seen Meet the Robinsons? I thought it was great and on par with a lot of the Pixar movies.
Spirited Away was a very good movie although a little too plot driven for most 6 year olds. My boy had a tough time staying focused during the slow parts. I'm not a big fan of the Japanese style non-fluid animation but this was a good flick. Oh yeah, Ratatouille was very good also.
I thought Ratatouille was boring. It wasn't as funny as it should have been, and they look like they are adding more to the "animation" part than to the entertainment part in Pixar. Granted, without making things "believable" like a talking mouse or a talking ghost, this movie wouldn't be as good... but... it's just funny in some parts and for the most part just wants to talk about the food and how a cook's kitchen should be. 8 in a scale of 10 because of its animation, not its "entertainment" fatures.
