Yep, you read right. A real Predator sequel. Produced by Robert Rodriguez, directed by Nimrod Antal (Vacancy, Armor), starring Oscar-winner Adrien Brody. Apparently Rodriguez wrote a script back in 1994 about Dutch getting scooped up and taken to the Predator homeworld, and it never got shot. Some goober at Fox recently found it in their archives and approached Rodriguez about it. Needless to say, I'm pretty hyped. I loved the first two Predators and always hoped to see more. I'm not a huge Adrien Brody fan, but he's a good actor, so I'm crossing my fingers that this will be a smart sci-fi action flick ala Iron Man. AICN Predator news
I'm taking it you never bothered with the AVP movies? I never saw the 2nd one, but the first was god-awful. I'm a little leery of a movie being shot on a script that's been around for 9 years. If the script was really all that great, one would think someone would have filmed it by now.
He's not using that old script though, he wrote a new one. It'll be about multiple people who don't know each other being abducted and and being chased by a hunting party of predators. The abducted are all supposed to be badasses. It's like all the guys from Dusk Til Dawn who survived the initial Vampire fight in the bar are on the Predator planet.
Love brody. If they were ever going to make a movie about john lennon, I would cast adrian brody. And it's difficult not to enjoy something involving the predator. I even own the Batman vs Predator comic from the 90s. Good stuff. Predator gets a bad rep, but predator only attacks the armed. Strong Ideals that we can all learn from.
If they could deliver on this...my ass is in the seat. I loved the Predator movies as well (the first 2) so I would love the chance to enjoy some more. But considering how handily a single predator offed the badasses from the original (albeit with most of them not even knowing what they were up against) being on an entire PLANET of predators is a pretty tall task indeed.
I'm not a fan of Rodriguez's movies. He makes Hollywood productions seem like Hammer films. I like Hammer films, but Rodriguez's work, I find boring.
It's cool that they are just calling it Predators -- kind of give the franchise a fresh start after all the Pred v. Aliens crap.
Script review video: http://www.latinoreview.com/news/exclusive-first-look-at-robert-rodriguez-s-predators-8112 These guys get great scoops (first to report Ledger as the Joker) and get their hands on scripts all the time, but I don't trust their analysis after their main script reviewer went Iraqi Information Minister on the GI Joe movie. I firmly believe the producers of GI Joe bought the guy off by giving him all kinds of access and maybe promises of future scoops. Here's a review of the original Rodriguez script in the mid 90's that is very different from the movie they are now making. Frankly this one sounds stupid. How did Dutch go from the late 80s to traveling around with space marines?: http://www.avpgalaxy.net/index.php?main=predatorfilms§ion=predatorsscript

I am going to predict this movie will suck. The first one was awesome cause it was arnold and apollo creed being badasses, but how many times can you do the same thing.
