link Here's a big fat juicy rumor concerning the future of the Marvel Film Universe... Spoilers, if true... Published at: Feb. 3, 2013, 11:24 p.m. CST Share On Facebook Twitter Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. So, El Mayimbe at Latino-Review has been teasing that he has some big Marvel scoopage for weeks now and just dropped it. It's a rumor and a big rumor at that, so as usual with these kinds of stories, take it with a grain of salt. Keep in mind, it was Latino-Review that broke that Thanos was the post-credits tease at the end of Avengers way early. They have good sources. If true, it concerns our favorite big green angry guy and the way he fits into Marvel's Phase 3. Mayimbe hears that he will be getting his own stand alone film, with Mark Ruffalo still in the character, post Avengers 2... and that storyline will be Planet Hulk. If you know the comics you know how that storyline starts. If you don't and want to know, I'll let Mayimbe tell you himself. That's pretty damn exciting to me and makes sense, so I'd imagine we'll see this play out like Mayimbe is suggesting. What's really interesting is what that means for future Avengers movies. Latino Review has been pretty dead-on when it comes to scoops. I'm psyched about this. The Planet Hulk arc in the comic is probably the best Hulk story to come around in a decade. Great storyline with Hulk doing what he does best, kicking huge ass. Marvel studios hasn't put out a bad flick yet, so I'm hoping for the best here.
It would be interesting, but I don't see how they could essentially make him a bad guy in one (or two) of The Averngers' movies. Guy on Slashfilm added some more speculation to this: http://www.slashfilm.com/heres-how-...to-phase-2-the-avengers-2-and-the-avengers-3/
Planet hulk (the animated film) is one of the best animated movies Marvel has done in years. I'd love to see Planet Hulk the movie...followed by World War Hulk (avengers 3 of course!). Edit: just read the article in Haymitch's post; its basically saying the same thing as my post. Please let this be true.
It'll be interesting to see if Marvel going to Disney helps keep this from growing to the point of collapsing upon itself. It's awesome and risky for all these movies to be so interconnected. Not like the comics where you're able to blast out 10 titles every month. Each franchise is limited to a 2-3 year frequency and you can't have some of these actors keep it up for multiple decades. Phase 3 seems to include: Ant-Man Dr. Strange Heroes for Hire (Luke Cage/Iron Fist) Hulk ...and that's leaving out potential sequels for Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America. Good thing Disney is bankrolling things now, they've got the resources to expand all this filming.
<br> Idk man World War Hulk was awesome! But the Sentry has to be one of the most lame comic characters for me. Kinda torn on it.
They can't do Planet Hulk. It would take a whole movie to establish him is such a threat that the other heroes decide to banish him. Then you would have to have an entire planet hulk movie. THEN after planet Hulk he comes back to earth for revenge. They aren't going to turn him into a villain
I don't think it would take an entire movie, just him going a little too SMASH in the next Avengers so they launch him off into space at the end because he's too big a threat (just like in the comic), setting up the Planet Hulk movie. Easily done. As licensing stands, Fox owns the movie rights to SS and Galactus, which fall under the Fantastic Four umbrella that Marvel sold movie rights to when they were close to bankruptcy in the 90s. Marvel recently tried to pay Fox to use the rights for SS and Galactus for the Avengers Movie arc but it didn't pan out, which is why they are using Thanos instead (which is better, IMO). Also why they are hyping up the Guardians of the Galaxy as their 'galactic' team, since FF is usually the space team in the Marvel Universe. On that note, I could see the Guardians rescuing Hulk in the movie universe and bringing him back to Earth for the third movie.
What happens in Planet Hulk other than there being a red Hulk that everyone seems to love for no reason? Someone explain it in 5 bullet points or less.
What about the first two Hulk films? Dislike Ruffalo as the Hulk. Hope they recast (honestly I liked Eric Bana).
Red hulk has nothing to do with planet hulk; the character was introduced later as well. Hulk is shot into space and being sent to a planet with no life on it so he can cause no further trouble. He instead ends up in a wormhole leading to a planet with lots of intelligent life. He's captured and enslaved and has to battle in a gladiator arena. There's much more beyond this which is what makes it interesting...but that's the very tip of the iceberg without big spoilers.

the animated Planet Hulk used Beta Ray Bill in the SS role. if his character gets introduced or teased in the next Thor film I would lean towards his character filling that role aptly
