I haven't read the book, but from what I hear, it seems like the movie is staying as close as it can. I haven't been this excited for a movie in a while. New Trailer(s) came out yesterday: Trailer 1: <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/q6wR62QisEU&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/q6wR62QisEU&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object> Trailer 2: <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/fgyO8jl2pGM&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/fgyO8jl2pGM&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

I remember when I was like 10 years old I watched Omega Man on the late, late, late movie after I was supposed to have gone to bed and it scared the crap out of me. I can honestly say it is the only movie which has ever scared me in my life. I will definitely see this.
The Omega man deviated a bit more from the book, curious to see how this one sticks, never really pictured Will Smith as Robert Neville but so far the trailers look solid
Yeah...Omega Man was loosely based on the same book. This film deviates at least in the sense that it's New York instead of LA.
I saw the trailer for this movie on tv this weekend and am really excited for its release. I normally enjoy the story lines that Will Smith acts with and I think this will fall right in line with his previous work.
Yeah I read the book recently and was astounded to discover that OMEGA MAN was based on THIS book. It's always been one of my favorite post apocalyptic cult films. From the classic open to......... Anyone know who is directing?
I have never read the book nor any past movies based on the book. It basically looks like a cross between Night of the Comet, Resident Evil and Escape from N.Y.

Yeah, this will be the third stab at getting this book done right.. weird thing is, the whole title of the book is a reference to the main character becoming just as much of a terrifying monster to the 'non-infected' survivors as the 'infected' survivors are to him at the beginning. Apparently, at least in the book, the non-infected and infected look about the same, but the big difference is one group does not become vampire-like and feed on human blood, whereas the other one does.. but he doesn't know this at first, and kills as many in both groups as he can, indiscriminately. Now, whether or not the movie plays out like that, we'll just have to wait and see. I do know that this movie was a long battle getting made, going through Arnold Schwarzenegger's hands, among others.
I wasn't enthused when I heard about the movie...but those trailers look amazing. I will be there opening night for sure...
They filmed a bunch of this in my neighbothood and shut down the streets for hours. Will Smith drove around in a car (actually being dragged by a truck) and the roads had to be completely abandonded.
a movie with just will smith. looks kinda crappy, but i'll prolly end up seeing it the trailer that says "The Last Man on Earth" reminds me of Moony at the movies <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/zf-ZtRJZxnY&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/zf-ZtRJZxnY&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
