    GOAL! The Dream Begins

Who's going to see this movie? Starts tomorrow.*

When I first saw the commercial, I couldn't stop asking myself: "where have I seen this guy?!?!?!" Then my wife and I were watching one time, and it came on, and I remembered I had seen this guy Kuno Becker in the Mexican soaps, mostly with his first big hit in "SoƱadoras"... and my wife agreed it was him.

I am happy he's done the "crossover" successfully. He's already filming GOAL!2 and 3, where he gets traded to REAL MADRID. I remember seeing previews of him training with superstars like Ronaldo and Zidane in some UNIVISION shows.

I can't wait to see this film. Soccer brothers?

*EDIT: This movie is to be out on Friday, May 12, not today as I posted above.*

it will be lucky to make 4 million at the box office opening weekend.

So have fun, you will most likely have the theatre to yourself.

that being said i might check it out.

    It's ok, kind of contrived.

Gotta love this episode...Will Ferrell as the Coach Lucas.

Coach Lucas : "Tie game, everyone's a winner. Hurray!"

HANK: Bobby, I never thought I'd need to tell you this, but I would be a bad parent if I didn't. Soccer was invented by European ladies to keep them busy while their husbands did the cooking.

BOBBY: Why do you have to hate what you don't understand?

HANK: I don't hate you, Bobby.

    BOBBY: I meant soccer.

HANK: Oh. Oh, yeah, I hate soccer. Yes.

So, about soccer names, are the guys with one name pretty common, or is that a status symbol that a player attains when he gets really good?

Want to bet signatures it gets more than 4 million? :D
The latter, but the ones unknown and with one name are mostly Brazilians, as is customary to call them with one name which no one else has had before: Bebeto, Rhonaldinho, Sinha, Romario, Socrates, etc.

Other world-reknown players have accomplished this without being Brazilian: Rossi, Matthaus, Brehmmen, Friedel, Campos, Borgetti, Hermosillo.

I think if you were to play, and someone said "Hey, that's TRAIN!" we'd all know whom it was, as you're a CF living legend already.

Well, of course a guy named "Socrates" is only going to have one name...do you really need another name? I bet he forms a hell of a front line with Plato and Aristotle...
