Obviously he's not on our SL roster, but he could at least be invited to training camp. One of our only true needs this summer is a backup SG. He might fit the role, especially as a defensive-minded, hard-working role player. He got cut from the Washington Summer League roster.

"The Washington Wizards whittled their summer league basketball roster down to 13 yesterday after releasing four players, including former Maryland forward Byron Mouton."

I watched Mouton since being a Terp fan this past year. I would like to say pick him up, but I do not think he would help the Rockets or be better than what the Rockets have currently. The plus is he does give 100%. FREDTERP

You may be right. I saw Maryland play alot of games as well. However, we need to explore all possibilities for a back-up SG. The decision needs to be made whether we need instant offense or a hustle type/defensive minded player. It'd be nice to have one that's both but realistically who would be possible?

    Defensive: Bruce Bowen, Greg Buckner

Offensive: Rodney Buford, Lee Nailon, Torres?

I have no idea who we could get. Bowen would be nice, but what are other options that are cheap?

Well, after leading Rhode Island to a combined 12-46 record his Junior and Senior seasons at Rhode Island (right after Lamar Odom left...go figure!), he declared early for the NBA draft, didn't get drafted, and is (was?) playing for the Phoenix Eclipse of the new ABA...

He's currently on the waiting list to join his brother Stephon's "possee"....

I go to the university of Maryland and have seen Mouton play at our GYM. He can do some flashy dunks :D. I am surprised that he didn't make it and Mike Mardesich did. Mouton brings alot of energy to the court and can lock people up when it comes to defensive. But I don't know about him d-ing up NBA type players, Kirk Hinrich (Kansas) drove on Mouton consistently. Also, Mouton has a wierd form when he releases. But he has a pretty decent free throw and field goal percentage for a 3. I am sure mouton can make denver or start on a foreign team.

I think we need a cold 3pt shooter. Everybody claims we need a defender and that would be nice, but Rudy can always use a 3pt shooter well.

Who would you have in mind? Dan Langhi? hehe

Dell Curry is OLD...Who else? I'd rather have someone who isn't so one-dimensional, and if so defensive-minded, not a spot-up shooter who is a liability.

    BRUCE BOWEN....or BUCKNER....

Rox need a shooting guard to back up Mobley, better than our previous season, not just at the same level!

I would rather have Mouton than Torres as our back up.
Why? you ask. Because they're both going to average about the same amount of points playing behind Cat, but at least you know Mouton is going to try to lock his opponent up defensively, something Torres had trouble doing last season.

    3 point shooter?

I think you talkin' 'bout the BULL!

Not only does he bring deadly shooting accuracy, but he's a monster on the glass! And he blocks shots like nobody else! I swear, this one time I saw him block TWO shots in ONE game!
