We're all too familiar with the Rockets' fourth quarter collapses. During these collapses I've noticed a few things: 1. Players idle about when Yao is being denied / fronted. They don't seem to have a clue as to what to do. 2. Under pressure, they leave the ball to one player who tries to be hero, but ultimately fails and turns over the ball or shoots a very contested shot and misses. 3. This leads to fast break opportunities for the other team, overturning the momentum in their favor. The Rockets are too predictable. The Rockets, as a team, NEED to RUN, MOVE, do SOMETHING DIFFERENT. The ball needs to keep moving about as well, and not just be in the hands of a single player all the time. When they move the ball, the opposing team becomes disoriented, players will become open, and better shots will be taken.
if it were that simple wouldnt u think theyd be doing it. its hard to move without the ball when half the court is sealed off by a 7'5 guy trying to post up.
Playing team basketball isn't restricted to college hoops. Not being lazy, isn't either. You're suggesting that everyone should just stand around while one person tries to do everything? Does our team look like it has a Chris Paul or Tony Parker to you? Or even a Tracy McGrady? I'm emphasizing this: when the Rockets work as a TEAM, they win games.
