Underrated: Pierce Lafrentz Reef Stack Finley Wizard Overrated: Vince Kobe Kazaam Dikembe ------------------ please venture to atheistalliance and rocketsonline I AM SPARTACUS
Amazing, Dean! I respectively disagree with a couple of your selections. 1. Kobe is definitely a player to be taken seriously. I think every coach and player in the NBA knows it. He is NOT underrated. He was well exposed to the public and maybe even fell into that category of overrated a couple of years ago as everyone got tired of listening to Bob Costas " ... expand into the realm of Kobetude". But he is well recognized/respected now, and deservedly so, as one of the best all-around basketball players in the league. 2. Vince Carter is not underrated. He is vastly overrated. I have watched a number of talented players (including two memorable and exciting afternoons of the famous Goat ) displaying the magic that seperates them from others. Admitedly, Vince has many talents, including individual gravity defying exploits. But frankly I am getting tired of hearing how great his all around game is. Or, how he is "the master of the game". He may not be one-dimensional but he certainly is close to one-dimensional. He needs game discipline. Needs to gain some defense. Needs to be grounded into team effort. He and he alone will never make a championship team. He is Not Magic and he is Not Michael. He is pale comparisons to both of these players. He is overrated.
