Barkley was famous already before joining the Rockets. I don't know what the poll is about, but as far as who has gained the most fame recently, it would be Kenny Smith. He's more famous now as an analyst than the dependable pick and roll guy we got to start in the front court instead of sleepy.

Hakeem Abdul Olajawon! He was an inspiration to all muslims who wanted to play basketball! Its rare to have an athlete that was as good a role model as Hakeem!
charles was always famous but i would probably say more younger folks know more about kenny than they do Hakeem because of his job on TNT/NBA TV/Yahoo sports i would say Charles is the most famous probably followed by Kenny
I bet most people do not remember that Chuckster played for the Rockets. The same can not be said for The Dream.
I am sure hakeem is more associated with the rockets, but if you went down the street would they know who hakeem is? He keeps such a low profile that a lot of people have forgotten or never known of his greatness.
It's Charles or the coat tail riding embarrassment during the late 90s that we traded for that I won't dignify by saying his name.
Charles, unfortunately. Hakeem is obviously the best ever, but Charles being on TNT makes him the most known and thus the most famous.
