You're right for once. It would make 0 sense to draft this kid anywhere close to the lotto. In fact, he's closer to a 2nd rd pick than a 1st rd pick. Jopa used ben gordon as an example, but gordon has proven in the ncaa, nba regular season, and playoffs that he can get his shot off over anyone.
dmorey: Our early TOs were the diff in the gm-too big a hole to dig out of. @LScola4 kept us in it. @Klow7 one of few PG leading team in deflections
The worst part is I think a team like the Heat-Lakers-Celtics will be drafting him. Perfect situation for him and I hope someone before the conteders pick him up before they do because he could be dangerous...extremely so id he has guys like Lebron-Wade-Bosh around him and all he had to do was hit open shots.
What about him? He has been great for 1/2 a season. There are countless other examples like Bryant Reeves, Chris Mims, etc that more than help prove the rule.
They closed that loophole in subsequent CBAs. You can't draft a player that has remaining eligibility unless they declare for the draft.
dmorey: Unbelievable effort by@LScola4.AB&@Klow7 set up good looks.LAL D too tough in 1/2 court. We made it very tough on ourselves to get stops late dmorey: Very tough to lose to LAL but their success is no accident-@JeanieBuss/Phil/Mitch R all top notch.Phil would say "give them some F* credit!"
Yeah where is the props to the only man that go FT's in the game? DMorey believes in moral victories. It's like Rockets lost, they have a losing season but "great job everyone!" "You showed amazing effort." "Props to the org that just handed my org its arse." Moral Victories, in high school..yeah, college...maybe, but not in this business. Losing stinks, thier is no moral victories. Theirs only three types, the winners, the losers, and mediocres. Guess what this team is...
Seems to be the norm for a while now. Martin has played well enough to be mentioned on several occasions. Could be nothing, but I'm starting to think Morey has his reasons for dropping certain players names. I'm not convinced it always has to do with strictly play, but I'm usually looking for an angle on most things.
Maybe because Martin is already a veteran, well-established player with high value around the league? Kyle actually has a twitter account, so tweeting him something positive doesn't hurt. I couldn't agree more -- I think he might name drop to raise stock. For instance, he tweeted about Dorsey right before we traded him.
There are moral victories for fans, like the seven game series against the fakers. There are again moral victories for teams, such as the loss that happened today. It may not be a win, we won't win the league this season, but these are the type of games that can make players and the organization as a whole better. These are the type of games the true loser teams will never get a moral victory from.
Scola gets criticized a lot for poor D, but his effort level in these last 3 losses against very strong teams has been sensational. The GM has noticed. Durv, Love Scola's effort. But the more I watch him, the more I am convinced that he is the worst defender on our starting unit, even worse than Martin, and he gives back everything and more on the defensive end that he gives us on the offensive end. Odom got 20 and 20.
