Mory this morning 2-25-10 A caller mentioned Martin and Brooks arguing on the court. I missed it, anyone catch that? http://www.sportsradio610.com/episo...Box_55515791_Outer_Div;Box_55515791_Inner_Div Pockets Power Hour 2-24-10 Bullard kind of apologized for the Tmac comments by wanting to get a on record and hoping he gets to his former self. LOL!!! He also talks about the "Hey Bud, lets party!!!" http://www.sportsradio610.com/episo...Box_55515791_Outer_Div;Box_55515791_Inner_Div
Morey talking about how important it is for our perimeter guys to funnel their men into Yao Ming and how Brooks has done a great job of replacing his offense etc. Says this year Kyle has been our most impactual player..this year. Says Yao is getting better, but Yao will decide whether he plays for China or not. DD
I did hear Morey say that Martin needs to move and cut a bit more but it also has to do with getting used to the group he is playing with now. Also said Martin is still trying to get back into basketball shape after the injury. I noticed Martin standing around a lot in the 1st half but he did much better in the 2nd half and his results showed.
it seemed like he was standing around in the first half because he didn't have any sort of feel for brooks and where the ball was going.
i hope he's not refering to the "argument" they had in new orleans.. If he is, thenhe needs to put the phone and radio down and go play ball for once in his life. Not everything is peachy on the court. Looked more like a confusing QA between them to me that an argument.
Bingo... Brooks is not a very good point guard... and he's not very decisive, which leads to turnovers.. I'd like to see Martin handle the ball; Otherwise we need Lowry to start.. I've been saying this forever, but Adelman doesn't think the same way as I do.
Despite this slump, I think we're making the playoffs...7th or 8th seed. Am I just ingesting too much optimism?
I wonder if Adelman may start to reconsider starting Lowry now that Martin is at SG. I think Rick believed Brooks needed to be in the starting lineup because Battriza was such an offensive liablity but now that scoring isn't such an issue could he make such a change? Brooks on the second unit would be dynamic also would help balance out the scoring on the team and help Budinger/Battier/Andersen get open shots.
Yea i hope adelman does it cause dam last night brooks wasnt even looking to pass to martin once martin started dominating the ball himself he started scoring
Depends on how soon Lowry and Ariza return. I would say if we have to wait over a week for Lowry, we're screwed. < Good. >
Brooks would demand to be traded if he is sent back to the bench. Not after experiencing semi-stardom in last year's playoffs. BTW, I agree with you guys that Lowry is a better fit at pg with Martin. It is just a guess, but I think if the players were to be polled, they would prefer to run with Lowry instead of Brooks, merely because Lowry sets them up better. DD posted a comment from Morey to the effect that Lowry has had the most impact on the team this year. Our recent slide when we are not even competitive makes that argument very easy for Morey.
i'd really prefer it if we didn't. sure it would be nice to see if maybe we can make some noise in the playoffs, however it doesn't feel like this team has the mojo of last year's team. i'd be happier if we had the small chance in hell at moving up in the lotto.
where's the evidence that he would demand to be traded? If anything he's always kept quiet and just went with what was asked of him. Yeah he'd probably be upset, but i dont think he'd daman being traded, especially with a possibl big summer coming up. He'd have to be benched and not allowed to play much for him to demand a trade, which isnt likely.
That is because Adelman can be just as pig headed as the next guy. It is obvious- if we were playing the Adelman system then Brooks would have to become a playmaker, which he isn't!. Lowry is the closest to being a playmaker. Brooks should be the back up shooting guard to Martin. Last nights game showed us our many faults and how far away we are from being a decent quality team.
Probably, I am guessing a 20-25% chance at best of making it, which is not impossible, but still hard.
This isn't a new idea. Lowry's change-of-pace style and bullish attitude is an amazing asset to have coming off the bench. Landry got all the accolades, but Lowry was definitely the most important bench piece for us. Without him, we are obviously not very good. He is, of course, only our most impacting player this year because we had Yao all the other years.
That's my opinion. After playing crazy starter minutes for about 1 1/2 years, there is no way he would accept being a bench player again.
