While I did appreciate Morey speaking out on Hong Kong, I think his big mouth also got us into trouble at times. I didn’t like how he left us, either—“spending more time with my family”...yeah right James also had a less than stellar exit with us, and the whole Brooklyn saga was a complete mess which he is not absolved of all responsibility for (though I place the fault more squarely on Irving’s conspiracy-filled head) I voted for James on the poll, but I guess at this point I’m really pretty much over both of them. I guess being a Rockets fan overrides any player/gm loyalties pretty easily.
Morey is too smart for that, he knew things would sour in Houston, so he just made himself a culprit. He had to know while his Twitter account is his own, he did tweet a lot of things Rockets related and that it would lead back to the Rockets organization as a whole. I think he just did not see that this thing would blow up big time, I think he miscalculated there for himself but I guess he had a plan out. Same here, I do not miss the dork loud mouth Morey but he was a funny guy, I missed the fun and Battier.
miss those 2…they made us relevant and competitive I often reminisce back to 2018…a torn hamstring away from a title CP3, Harden, and Morey’s legacies would’ve been secured and they’d retire as Rockets with their jerseys and Morey’s suit and tie hanging from the rafters now we’re left with Tilman and Stone embarking on a journey of nonstop L’s hoping draft picks will save us
All Morey had to do is to allow 20% more midrange game during the 3rd and 4th Q for most shooters and that should have increased the chances. Offensive versatility be damned. He was too far down that road.
we had CP3 taking midrange, but he went down with injury…the only other player I wanted to see take some midrange jumpers was Harden when his 3 wasn’t falling…everyone else on the roster needed to stick to layups and threes
For me, they are both turncoats. But I do miss Morey's seeming ability to get what he wants. Harden can play in Alaska for all I care.
Harden could have shaped the organization for a really nice 10 years, Daryl's impact could have lasted 30 years (if he slows down on the cheeseburgers)
They should be punished for tampering. Both of them. Helping to turn the NBA into glorified AAU ball.
I'm glad we had them both. Forget about the CP3 injury...It still took the League office robbing us...or else we'd have at least one title with them.
Morey built not one but two championship caliber rosters on the Rockets. Harden is an expensive replaceable cog. Finding a capable GM has proven infinitely harder than finding a star player over the decades in all 4 sports.
Morey so far in Philly got rid of Horford’s contract getting Danny Green in return drafted Tyrese Maxey traded Josh Richardson for Seth Curry Simmons was never gonna play for the Sixers again, so he essentially traded Seth, Drummond, and 2 picks for James Harden in 1 year, he has gone from a Ben Simmons, Embiid, Horford trio that had no hope of contending to Embiid and Harden Sixers now have a top 4 of Embiid, Harden, Harris, and Maxey plus role players like Danny Green and Thybulle Stone meanwhile getting played every trade deadline
Folks way of coping is rooting for Harden to fail. Asian Sensation will b this thread soon btching about harden Eases the pain of whatever we r trying to build. Schroder? Wood? Theis? Silas? We r stuck with tilman fam for the rest of our lifetime. Hopefully we get lucky in the draft sweet stake or a tilman offspring is competent.
