My 12 year old miniature pincer has been holed up at the vet's all night with a severe case of pancreatitis. Unfortunately, he hasn't made any improvement and appears to be on his last legs. Still hoping for a miraculous eleventh hour comeback, so if you guys could get some positive energy going I'd really appreciate it. What kills me (other than the fact that I've had the little guy since I was 9) is that a contributor to his condition is obesity. He wasn't all that fat but I still can't help but think that had I spent thirty measley minutes taking him for a walk everyday he'd still be fine.
Thank you so much for the well-wishes, red. Good to see at least someone else cared. Unfortunately, he passed away early this morning. At least we had one more week to say our goodbyes. R.I.P. Perkins (January 21, 1992 - September 12, 2004)
Sorry to hear that, AS. Pets are the greatest. I've had pets basically since birth and this kind of thing never gets easier. It's really devastating when they leave us.
sorry for your loss man. Pets are so great. i really hated it when our last dog died, and i cannot think about losing my current dog. RIP Perkins +
Thanks everyone. Vengeance - here are a couple of pictures. The first is from a year ago and the other is from 2 months ago. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid139/p29bad22a35e7bcafc49b716891989271/f70a381d.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid139/pf778239b89953227a73145a1f82e11fb/f70a3819.jpg (I don't know if we're still allowed to link to images. Sorry.) I'd also like to add that although he exhibited a few symptoms we should have been more concerned over, his illness struck hard practically overnight. Things can happen even quicker than that. Let your pets know you love them while you still can.
