I just noticed that Phoenix has not yet signed Daniel Santiago, their 7-1, 270-lb. backup center. Is he attainable? Is he an option to back up Cato and Collier? He had some shining moments last year, although I confess I did not catch many of the Suns games.   I keep looking. Grow, Griff, Grow!

There is good reason to Phoenix not signing Santiago.

Ziggy: You've left us hanging. Please tell us what the good reason is.  I was under the impression he was on the rise in Phoenix, overshadowed only by the size and hype of T-Sak.

I saw both Santiago and Tsakalidis a couple of times in the RMR. To me, Santiago looked more polished. Both played hard. The big problem for Phoenix is that they are way over the cap at this point and would have to do some maneuvering to resign Santiago, as far as I know. He would probably come pretty cheaply.
