Just when you thought you'd heard enough bad news...

Scientists note methane buildup in melting arctic...

Yes. The earth is slowly releasing an enormous fart. Just as has been predicted.

That is pretty scary...especially if it causes a global temperature hike.

Somebody get out there with a snow machine or something. We need to find a way to air condition the Earth. I guess we can't light it (the gas)?

I predict we will have to move underground eventually. The surface will be unusable for a long time and eventually re-birth itself. But, by then, we will all be those ugly creatures afraid of...and repelled by...sunlight, aka Morlocks.

Maybe H.G. Wells got it right? The atom smasher will eventually be the time machine.

Joking aside...it may be too late to stave off our eventual extinction. It seems we're losing the planet. We're more concerned about who we have to kill next...and which war we have to start next. We should be working together to figure out how to save the planet. We don't deserve to live IMO. "Survival of the fittest" will ring even more true as we go along here.

Maybe we could use a $700 billions bailout here. Give that money to the scientists, I'll sure they'll come up with something. Or, let's start a war on methane, $1 billion a month will do a lot of damage ;)
