OK, that shot deserves another thread... at least a few mo threads! But, what the hell was Mobley doing? That was an awesome bank from 60 !!! ------------------ "I am" is reportedly the shortest sentence in the English language. Could it be that "I do" is the longest sentence ?
From watching that play, one can only assume (or hope) that Mobley didn't know how much time was left. But how could he not? He was standing there, dribbling, looking right at the clock. Then he lazily passed one over to Moochie, who was just lucky enough to bank that one in....I also don't know what Mobes was thinking. Luckily, it's not going to bother me much... I've said it before, and I'll say it again. IMHO, the biggest reason for our success this season is the play of Moochie Norris. Not just the last-second heroics. He can cross anyone over, is extremely unselfish (almost to a fault), a pretty decent marksman, and the best playmaker on this team. And don't forget that rebound down low with near 1:30 left in the game, with the game tied. (I'm just guessing on the time.) That was huge, especially considering the way we rebounded most the night. ------------------ Jazzkiller
If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say Mobes was playing for OT, then Mooch just launched a prayer at the end and it went in. Sometimes its better to be lucky than good. ------------------
I have to admit I've never been too big on Mooch and even a little worried as to whether or not he was ready to be the main back up at the point.Basically I was buying into the whole CBA reject thing but Mooch has definently won me over, not with any outstanding skills just a simple knowledge of how to play the game and I am proud to say I'm a fan of the Mooch. ------------------
I'm just glad Cuttino had the sense not to try and split the double team. Del Negro is not a great defender, but he's tall enough and would have been on the side of Cat's shooting hand and Cat was cold from long range. Also, the ref's probably would not have called anything with just seconds on the clock and GS would have taken the momentum to OT. Doesn't Cat get an assist for that shot??!! Way to go Moochie!! ------------------ GATER [This message has been edited by GATER (edited December 15, 2000).]
