Just when I thought he couldn't get any worse, Moochie comes in and almost scores against the Rockets. He didn't even make the wide open putback. Funniest Rockets moment this year for sure.
ya i was there, i was puzzled i think he thought he heard a whistle i thought i heard one to,wither way i wont be too sad seing him comin off the books
He thought it was shot clock violation and just messed around after that. I bet that cut Gundy's life at 1 year shorter.
Moochie's life? Never. I would be laughing everyday morning when I get up realizing I, a NBA prentender, was paid 4.8 million/year, if I were him.
Some Bobcat fired up a desperation shot as the shot clock was expiring. Moochie thought he heard the whistle that follows a shot-clock violation but apparently the ball either hit the rim or the guy got the shot off after the clock expired, I don't remember. Moochie rebounded it, casually tossed the ball Rick Barry FT-esq style at the backboard, it didn't go in then he grabbed it and took the ball down the court. Stupid but not really really a big deal considering we were up by like 30 at that point and the ball never really came close to going in.
Bobcats jacked up a shot as the shotclock expired..refs didn't blow the whistle but it seemed pretty obvious. Moochie was under the basket and got the rebound. Thinking it was a shot clock violation, he acts cool and tries a putback into the basket (which he misses)...but no one ever stopped play so it would have counted if it went in. Just thinking about it makes me laugh...
Oh c'mon, he at least used to be one of the better backup PG's in the league during the his first stint as a Rocket.
The zone defense is what killed his game.....btw i still have that moochie in Rockets in Simpson land on my desktop, classic
The Moochie contract is absolutely insane. How could any NBA professional agree to a mult-million deal for him. It still amazes me. Didn't the Rockets make the orginal deal or did they trade for him? I couldn't believe that the Knicks took him. And even more amazing, the Rockets took him back!
You have to understand that when Rockets handed out that ridiculous contract to him, Steve was still our Franchise player. So one of the main reasons that Rockets signed him at that time was to please Steve and Cat since they were buddies on that team.
If you're complaining about Moochie's expiring deal now, imagine how disgusted you would be if we signed Derek Fisher to the MLE, as some on this board suggested, two summers ago instead of splitting it on Sura/"Coach Ward". Let me tell you how much I would love to be paying $7 mill a year until the end of the decade for a back up quality PG.
