Now that the official order of the draft is set I think it's time we consider doing some mock drafts. So if you feel inclined, give it your best shot. I'm working on mine right now. Just do the first round and include any trades that might occur. ------------------
Uh oh. You just opened a flood gate. At least there's only about 1 more month of posting every possible permutation of every pick in the draft. You may also want to post it to the Lottery section of the board. No sense flooding two boards with the same stuff. ------------------ ?
First Round 1. Houston(from New Jersey for Cato, Thomas #9, future 1st round)-Kenyon Martin 2. Chicago(from Vancouver for 4,7)-Chris Mihm 3. L.A. Clippers-Stromile Swift 4. Vancouver(from Chicago for 2)-Marcus Fizer 5. Orlando(from Golden State)-Joel Prybilla 6. Atlanta-Darius Miles 7. Vancouver(from Chicago via Washington)-Iakovos Tsakalidis 8. Cleveland-Mike Miller 9. New Jersey-Courtney Alexander 10. Denver (from Orlando via Denver)-Quentin Richardson 11. Boston-Jerome Moiso 12. Dallas-Olumide Oyedeji 13. Orlando-Erick Barkley 14. Utah (from Houston via Detroit)-DerMarr Johnson 23. Houston(from Utah via Miami for 14)-Ernest Brown 26. Houston(from Utah for 14)-DeShawn Stevenson 38. Houston-Mario Austin There is no way you can pick what's going to happen after the lottery so I just did the lottery and the Rockets picks. The Rockets end up with 4 talented players including two high late picked high school players and JC player. They go big and make Francis3(and about million other Rockets fans) happy when they pick KMart. So here's the lineup after we get rid of Drew and Massenburg somehow. C Dream/Brown PF Martin/Austin/Rogers SF Williams/Stevenson/Bullard SG Anderson/Mobley PG Francis/Norris Martin is ROY and the Rockets make the playoffs and have a good season. I can't say what they'll do in the playoffs because it's a whole new ballgame there. By adding Martin the lineup pretty much doesn't weaken and probably improves offensively, but most importantly defensively with KMart's defensiv prowess. And look at those 3 young guys sittin on the bench and none of them are 21 years old. In this draft the Rockets get immediate help in Martin, but build for the future with great pickups in the late first round and second round. BTW, Stevenson will be as good as Vince Carter if not better once he reaches his full potential and Brown and Austin will be solid if not All Stars in the future. Though Austin is behind Martin. That's my dream team right there. ------------------
Damb you are good!!!!! Wow, again damb you are good!!! What can I say but your imagination is working over time and I LOVE IT. It could happen!!!!! It could happen!!! Ah but the deal for the #1 pick looks feasible if New Jersey were the Clippers. But I'm just being D. Advocate. So keep the positive vibes flowing, it could happen. ------------------
