Cat tore it up tonight! He pretty much played a perfect game. He didn't turn the ball over, and only missed two shots while making seven. He had two steals(he leads the Rocks), another block(leading again) and hit both of his 3pters. He also leads the Rocks in 3pters made and percentage. To go along with 20 points, he grabbed 7 boards and 5 dimes. Franchise may of had 33 points, but Mobley played just as well as him. When Mobes was on the floor, the Rockets played well. They sat him in the second quarter, and tha Mavs got back into the game. However, in the 3rd, Mobley and the Rocks dominated. Cat had 16 points and Dallas had 18 as a team in that quarter. Much props to Mobes.
I think this is good to point out since a lot of other posters overly did the criticism last time...I'm not saying he played well against the Lakers but I do value the fact Cat comes out with maximum effort and the effort is shown out on the court...Obviously, he will have a heck of a lot more games like this against the Mavs this season!
RR5, forget props, just rip shreads off him for single mistakes Smeg PS great post, keep fighting the good fight, against the insane reactionary heat of the moment crap everyone loves to post!!!!
Didn't play good gainst LA? what? He was money in the first half, played good d on Kobe. Did not play good? Yes he made a mistake, but did not play good? Sorry, I'm not a hater.
I am completely serious....I have seen less than 5 times that Cuttino's man has driven by him. I've seen Stackhouse in preseason, Terry, Hardaway, Kobe and now Finley...we have a grand total of 1 drive-by by Stack, goose egg by Terry, 3-4 by Penny, goose egg by Kobe (except for a miscue double team with Kenny), and a goose egg by Finley. Guys, Cuttino is stopping everyone's drive...forcing them to shoot over him. Now, exactly how many times did he drive by Terry, Penny, Kobe and Finley???? imo, the most surprising things this year is Kevin Willis, first, and Cuttino's defense, second. For stat mongers, he leads the team in steals and blocked shots, too.
Dude- that's right, I never even thought of that- I can't remember one time that Kobe got past Cat one-on-one. He got to the basket only on pnr's and fast breaks. And Cat blew by 'defensive player of the year' multiple times. But without a doubt, Willis is the biggest surprise. Thank God almighty for him and his rebounds.
That's what I mean. He plays solid 1 on 1 Defense. That's right capital D. Nothing you can do if Kobe is hitting those fallaway jumpers, but to stop his drive. Throw the man a freakin bone.
