That makes tomorrow's task much harder... http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/story.hts/sports/bk/bkn/1129823 Mobley hobbled Rockets guard Cuttino Mobley sprained his left ankle during Monday's practice when he stepped on another player's foot, and it was looking more like the injury might keep him out of tonight's early-season showdown with the San Antonio Spurs.
Hopefully T-Mo will finally get some playing time or we could possibly see Rice at SG and Griffin at SF.
Why cant we ever catch a break instead of the other way around. I guess we got an Iverson less Sixers and a McDyess less Nuggets but that didnt turn out so well. Oh well this just plain and simple SUCKS!
Tonight we get a glimpse at the career of Oscar Torres. Well you guys get a glimpse, I get a chat of a glimpse.
I wouldn't be surprised if Walt starts at SG considering Steve Smith at 6'8 is the Spurs Starting SG... Either way Torres will get more than his avg. tonight... I think starting Walt would help Torres not have to worry about getting into foul trouble early and Morris would fall right behind Rice at the SF...(getting more PT)...
The Chron was speculating that either Torres or Walt would start. Moochie would make sense to me; I'm not sure why they didn't mention him as a candidate. Obviously, Steve Smith would have a height advantage if we started Norris and Francis, but he couldn't keep up with the speed of either of those guys. Personally, I think Langhi should get activated and put in the starting SG spot. I always like watching games where Mobley has to sit out. Obviously, it's a disadvantage for us, but we get to see what Rudy turns to to generate points when his Iso's on the bench.
I don't know why you guys hype up Oscar so much. I have seen him play quite a few times and he really should have stayed over seas cause he sux. We should start Walt or Rice and Willis and go from there.
Walt starts and scores 18 Torres/T-Mo pick up the rest of the slack and score double digits. Rockets win by 7 91-84
I just thought this was funny because you don't have to cross any water to get between here and Venezuela. Apparently, Rudy sees something in him because he's getting consistent minutes.
Putting Moochie in wouldn't be very smart. Not only will Steve Smith knock down J after J over a 6'3" guard, but Smith loves to post up.........nuff said
If I had to guess, since we have a smaller team, the Spurs will probably go to 3 guard sets of Tony Parker, Antonio Daniels, and Steve Smith. Antonio Daniels is a much better player than Bruce Bowen anyway, and he wouldn't be undersized at the 2 against Steve. So, as a result, neither would we, and starting Mooch would be fine. Or, even if the Spurs wanted to try to go big, do you really think Smith would last long defensively against Steve?
