Saw Cat on his Sports Sunday deal. He said he hurt his hand (right, non-shooting) in the Washington game but has to suck it up. He said he probably shouldn't have played today. He said none of the injured guys can afford to sit out.

    Other topics:

Said they should have pushed the ball more because the Spurs were coming off of a back to back.

Has been working on his jump shot and that's what helped get him back into the groove (until today). Said he was a non-factor today with his 8 points and needs to be around the 20 point mark to be effective.

Thanks for the info Free Agent. We can't afford anyone to get hurt now. Mobley needs to get healthy and back into his groove but the injury is obviously going to slow him down.

i'm sure the brigade will be in shortly to be all over this quote. even though it means he needs 20 (as opposed to 8) with the looks he was getting to help the team win, not for his own good. but they'll ignore that.

I think he meant he needed to get closer to his avg of 20 pts because the team needs the scoring if no one else is going to step up.

Mobley needs to get 18 points off a maximum of 13 shots. That's when we're unbeatable.

That *** has been a non-factor for most of the season...

I feel for him for being injured, but even when we wasn't injured, he sucked...

I'm not sure what the team needs, but I must say this, it's not all CAT's fault...

I don't like that he thinks he has to be around 20 points for the Rocks to win...he should do whatever it takes to win...who cares how many points he scores.

Heck, Mobley was the one guarding....errrr....watching Ginobli score on him.

He just refused to guard him....and seemed surprised as Manu made him his BIATCH.

I am not so sure we need Mobley to score 20 points for him to be effective, but I DO firmly believe we need that kind of production from SOMEONE on the team to "stretch the defense" and provide balanced outside scoring to go with our inside scoring via penetraters and Yao's post play.

If Mobley is that guy then so be it. He is the shooting guard on the team and is called upon to score points. Between Francis, Mobley and Rice someone needs to be consistantly hitting outside jumpers. Until we get a more CONSISTANT outside scoring threat this team can't take it to the next level.

Um, I think if anyone scored 20 points that would be effective. How about not watching the stat line, Cat and SF, and try to make smart decisions on the court instead...

    It's all their fault!!!

Well hopefully his hand gets better quickly.
And hopefully he can make those wide open shots. We need him to score. Really..... and we need his defense. :(

I was wondering......when Mobley drives in and dunked on Michael Doleac and David Robinson...how come there was no foul call? I mean they hit his arm clearly. ?

I've seen two of your posts.

Each contains the use of the word "***". You are 2 for 2.

    What's your deal?

Forget offense - how about Francis and Mobley playing consistently good on the defensive end. Francis especially has been horrible all his career at the defensive end - how about some improvement from our "team leader" for goodness' sake. My point is that we did not loose last Sunday because Mobley did not score 20 or 25 but the team, starting from their lead guards, showed no respect and passion for the game, piss poor defense and sound fundamentals (broken platinum record).

There in lies the problem with basketball here in the United States and probably worldwide. They label guys like Detriot's strongman (Wallace), bruce bowen, Nate Macmillan, Hersey Hawkins, etc. "defensive stoppers" while they call one dimentional players like Mobley, Glenn Robinson, Francis etc. great players. No one cares about fundamentals and defense because it does not put food on the table or make highlights. Since I have been listening to them both (especially) this season, I bet I have never heard the word intensity or DEFENSE or good fundamentals. I don't blame them - I blame the system.
