Desert Scar, your posts in this thread are spot on.

Mo Williams is a definitive upgrade at PG. I get as frustrated as everyone else at Rafer's defensive inadequacies, but we lsot in the first round because of bad offense, not bad defense (Game 7, maybe a little of both).

An easy way to guard the Deron Williams of the world is to make them actually play defense. Won't always slow them down, but it certainly helps.

How Mo could not be our top FA priority would be very puzzling.

I also think your analysis of the market for him is solid. The other thing to note is that there really aren't that many teams still searching for PG's. At least not in the sense that they'd overspend (more than the MLE) to replace what they already have.

Look at the Eastern Conference, the teams that might be interested should be: Boston, Cleveland, Indiana, Milwaukee, Miami and Atlanta. How many of those teams are under the cap? Atlanta. Maybe Boston? Everyone else can only offer the MLE, except for Milwaukee. So it's either get more money from Milwaukee (who sucks), Boston/Atlanta (who suck), or be tempted with the MLE from a team like Cleveland or Miami.

The Western Conference is even more stacked with good PG's. Teams in need include Denver, Lakers, Rockets and Grizzlies. Again, I think all anyone can offer is the MLE in this group...except for the Grizzlies, who suck.

I hope we can get him.
