Say it is mid to late Feb and Mo T. is ready and feels that he is 100%. However the Rockets have absolutely no hopes of playoffs and have a similar record to what it is now in terms of winning percentages. Would you let him play?

Sure. Then we will be better able to evaluate if KT is expendible in a trade - which I am all for :)

Yes. It's going to take him a little while to get past the doubt his subconscious mind will have as to whether or not he's 100% or not. That way, he can start next season at full speed with no residual effects. Besides, we could get the 5 game suspension out of the way this year, while it doesn't hurt the team's record.

By all means play him. We need to see what he is capable of. I think either him, but most likely KT will be traded soon enough. We need to see if Maurice is our man.

Depends on what the Doctors say. If they see no risk then by all means get him some PT...this season is lost anyway.

Would the league approve of his return? After all we got that extra cap space we used on Willis because Mo wouldn't be able to play at all this season.

    Wakk,

They did the same thing for Miami last year, and then ZO came back, it would be a non issue.

Wouldn't it better for the Rockets and MO if Mo were traded this offseason?

I'll tell you why it's better for us later, but for him:

Eddie Griffin is the PF. He's not gonna play big minutes at SF or C NEXT YEAR. If he wants to play SF, then what about Rice? Sure, he wasn't playing well at all while he was playing, but still, even off the bench, he'd get a minimum of 28 minutes a game, with T-Mo also getting a few. The only way I see this working, is if Mo Taylor was the backup at C, PF, and SF. Then he'd get all the minutes, and all the favourable matchups. But, Mo's first quarters were essential to us last season. If he doesn't start, it's very possible we'll lose that first quarter punch. I'm a big fan of Mo Taylor, HUGE fan in fact, but if a deal could be reached to better both parties, then why not? If he's happy to play off the bench as the primary backup at 3 spots, then that's great. But I'm not sure he will. We can't bench Cato. You've seen the production we've got out of starting, and we can't go every night with Mo at C. So even if you think Griffin is our C, he can backup Cato at times, but again, it would be a very bad idea to bench Cato because we would lose most of his productivity, like it or not.

Personally, I think if a deal can be reached for us to send Mo Taylor and our draft pick (likely #6 or something) to Seattle for Rashard Lewis, then we should go for it, hence making him play the rest of the season a good idea, so he can regain his fitness, and prove he's injury free.

Don't tell me the Sonics would rather package Lewis with Baker or Payton either, because no one is going to trade for a MAX, or close, player AND Vin Baker or Gary Payton's salary. The only way they can achieve this, is if they traded for something from Portland like: Stoudamire, Wells, throw ins for Payton and Lewis.

Yes!! Get his 5 game suspension out of the way before next season.
